It’s been exactly six months since I joined Weight Watchers. If you’ve been following my journey (see Help with the Hard Part and When the Hard Part is Easy), you’ll know that I made a commitment to conquer my “hard parts”:
1. It’s hard to separate hunger from boredom. 10:00 PM snacking is “a thing”.
2. It’s hard to say no to leftover cheesecake.
3. It’s hard to fit in exercise when I work 14-hour days.
4. It’s hard to stay on track when eating out and cooking for picky eaters.
5. It’s hard to eat well without feeling completely and utterly deprived of delicious food.
With the help of Weight Watchers, I did it. I conquered them.
Now I won’t leave you in suspense – I did reach my goal of 20-pound weight loss. And I attribute a large portion of my success to the new 24/7 Expert Chat. Coaches who have successfully lost weight on Weight Watchers are available to subscribers through 24/7 Expert Chat for instant advice on how to get started, get back on track, and stay motivated. This new feature is available to all Weight Watchers subscribers through online and mobile chat, 24 hours per day, seven days a week!
Yet, I stalled in publishing this 6-month check-in photo. Maybe it’s the old insecurities creeping in; maybe it’s just hard to put oneself out there for judgement. But after thinking about all I’ve accomplished, and how I got here in a healthy, habit-changing way, I’m throwing caution to the wind.
Screw it – I’M HOT! I LOVE MY NEW LOOK!Okay, so I’ll never get rid of the Kardashian hips (I’m not sure I want to) and I’m okay with a little tummy action too (I was totally sucking in my stomach here), but all in all, I feel confident, pretty and most of all, healthy. I feel like a 37-year old mom of two who’s on top of her game (albeit slightly sunburned). To be honest, I feel a little giddy.
Think you can’t do it? Think again. And with Weight Watchers online, you can do it from the privacy of your own home. Sign up now and get over 2 MONTHS FREE with the purchase of the 6-Month Savings Plan! That’s a savings of $53.05… and that’s $53.05 you can put towards a cute new dress.
I’ll be honest, the hard parts don’t go away. 10:00 PM snacking is still “a thing” and I haven’t found a way to quit cupcakes. But I’ve developed a new appreciation for making wise food choices, and when the hard parts happen, I know how to manage them.
I think you look great!
Thank you Athena!
You look gorgeous! Congrats on all your hard work!
Thanks Heidi, appreciate it!
You did it Lena! All your hard work paid off and you look stunning!
Aw, thanks Marissa!
You look so fantastic! Love tht dress
Thanks Jaime!
lookin’ good
Why thank you!
You look amazing, Lena! Also, I’ve been meaning to ask…what do you use on your eyebrows? They are perfect.
I’ve been using IT Cosmetics Universal Brow Powder obsessively for about a year now. It’s truly the best pencil I’ve ever used! And yes, perfect brows all the time, holla!! HOWEVER, full disclosure – I purchased two pencils last year and am currently on my second. Recent reviews say they changed the formulation! So, since I’m still on the old formula, I’m not sure I can recommend it until I try out the new one.

Awesome, thank you!! I will go have a read on that review. I would love to hear your thoughts on the new formula when you have the chance to try it. Don’t you just hate it when companies do that though?? Usually the new formulas are almost always inferior. Grrrr.
the hard part is sticking with a plan and saying now to your guilty pleasures.
I agree! But it’s okay to indulge! Just know your limit.
I too have a very soft spot for cheesecake.. delicious.
Lena! Losing 20 lbs is not something to be shy about! You look AMAZING! I know as women, we tend to focus on the negative stuff – but what you’ve accomplished is totally inspiring. I’m just trying to get rid of 5 lbs and it’s SO hard. I’m learning to not think of food as entertainment or the only thing to do when Paul and I go out. It’s tough to change my hard-wiring, but it’s finally time for me :) Thanks for sharing your journey.
so eating a bag of Doritos would be a bad thing?
You look good Lena, but you always look good!!! I just started weight watchers on Thursday, hope I can succeed!!
I think you look amazing
Amazing look Lena, congrats!
it’s my bday today. is that a good reason to eat some rich, delicious chocolate cake?
My mom is looking into Weight Watchers…even though I think she’s perfect.
You have quite the willpower Lena! I love Candy too much :)
Such a cute dress!
You da hot momma. You look fab, and congrats
Way to go Lena!! You look fabulous!
Wow! Thanks for sharing your journey. Definitely inspiring. You look fabulous! Way to go and congrats!
My biggest struggle with WW is the portion control, but I’ve been doing good and what not, and my weigh in this week was not good, a little disappointed but that means I have to work harder!!
You look amazing Lena and I didn’t think you needed to lose weight. Glad you reached your goal though. Btw,I love your dress, may I ask where you got it?
You’d look good in a paper bag.
You look wonderful :) Very happy for you
Absolutely stunning. Congrats to you.
Congrats, you look amazing! If you can wear horizontal stripes and look that good, you’ve definitely reached your goal!
You look fantastic!
Way to go Lena, you look wonderful but even better than that, you feel wonderful, I think sometimes we forget the importance of that!
Congrats! You look amazing.
Lena, you are my idol and you look beautiful. But truth be told I would have said those same words (and I think I did) six months ago. I have learned that being blessed with good health, a supportive family and the love of what you do in this life, will bring you true happiness! Be grateful girl, you deserve it :) On a side note, I wrote this without having tagged a giveaway post ;)
Congratulations Lena! Losing weight is NOT easy – and not giving up is even harder!
For the record, you were beautiful with 20 extra pounds and you are still a beauty after!
Way to go Lena! You look gorgeous (but you always did)!
I used WW to lose weight after my first son was born (back in 2005-06). I got down to my goal. Sadly, I am back up after having my second in 2009 and have put on a wee bit of weight due to anxiety/depression. I really wish I could find the motivation I had back in 2006.
And I love the look of your blog! It’s beautiful!
You looks fantastic! I love food and its everywhere its hard to lose a few pounds…..I think I need my taste buds removed…lol
Way to go Lena, you look amazing! It really is a struggle when it comes to food and being active, I am slowly but actively working towards my goals :)
Congratulations! You did it! But don’t let yourself slip back into old habits. As I’ve learned, the weight comes back much easier than it came off. I’m working on losing those pound again – I hope you don’t let them creep back on, because you look great.
You look amazing but you always have!
You look awesome and I love that dress ! I wish I had your discipline because I can never stick to it
Wow! This was almost two years ago and you’ve kept it off. Great work!
I have struggles with weight all my life,i just can’t win
It takes dedication to look that good!
