I’ll never forget the first time Ryder tottered over to our front lawn. A sea of green; he was anxious to test the waters. But there was just something about the look, texture or smell of the fuzzy carpet that made him stop dead in his tracks.
“Here you go!” my husband cajoled, plonking him right in the middle of the lawn.
And the water works began. He simply would not move his feet an inch, opting instead to cry while riveted on the spot. It literally took weeks before he ventured over again, and several more before he was able to tread grass without screaming his little head off. If I had to add it up, I’d say we spent hours coaxing him to take just one small step.
Two years later to the date, we’ve got another little guy terrified of the great green goblin.

Too cute!! Aidan's first time crawling on grass was hilarious – he immediately switched from hands to elbows until he was back on solid ground. He didn't enjoy running or rolling around in grass until his 4th summer. Now I can't get him out of it! Unfortunately, my little guy reacts to grass like I do so we avoid it as much as possible. But I'm sure he'd have the same reaction!

I had heard that some kids had problems with grass, so I was a bit more careful. I set baby on a rug in the middle of the grass, and let her venture out onto it in her own time (crawling). It took a while, and a few tentative touches on the grass, but she was fine. I'll share a piccy too:http://img857.imageshack.us/img857/9726/17738090.jpg

My daughter used to hate the grass, too, but now she loves it and tries to take off her shoes every time we go outside.

LOL!!! sorry, I had to laugh!!! It's just too darn adorable!! Milena was terrified of grass and sand too…Roman, puts on his sandals to go outside and strips the velcro and jumps out of them to run into the grass! He LOVES being barefoot outside…I've resorted to calling him my 'little gypsy!' :-D

Oh my goodness – I laughed so hard when I saw these pictures… All three of mine looked like a dressage horse the first time they felt grass between their toes… It was so hilarious… Thanks for the giggles xx

So adorable! My niece was freaked out by the recycled tire bits they use at the zoo playground, she used to tiptoe all over the place, never wanting to set her foot down :0

Grass wasn't too bad.The first time we took Son #1 to the beach, he said, "I no like da snow." He's a northern boy for sure!
