How Do You Spell Relief? For Me, It’s Spelled Toleriane

December 8, 2016 By Lena 27 Comments

This is the “after” photo. Clear, smooth, happy skin – without any irritation in sight. Bliss.
img_3692But it wasn’t always this way – in fact, just four weeks ago, it was a completely different story.

It was the weirdest thing. I’d go to sleep with perfectly clear skin, but upon waking, I’d find these angry, itchy red welts across my cheeks. Sometimes they’d disappear within hours; often, it took a day or two to settle down, only to repeat the cycle again.

“It’s rosacea,” the first dermatologist said.
“It’s allergic dermatitis,” the second one concluded.
“I’m not really sure what that is,” the third one admitted.

And in the meantime, I tried creams, lotions, potions – you name it. Later, at my family doctor’s office, I complained about the lack of diagnosis.

“Could you just have ultra sensitive skin?” he asked. Huh. I suppose it was possible – I mean, the cycle of irritation had only appeared in the last 18 months, but our skin is constantly changing and evolving, right? So, it’s not inconceivable to think that maybe – just maybe – I had developed a dermatological sensitivity.

Before I had a chance to explore the possibility, I was contacted by La Roche Posay about Toleriane. The line contains high tolerance products formulated with a minimum of ingredients to limit the risks of allergies. And, Toleriane promises extreme, instant and lasting comfort in a fragrance-, preservative- and alcohol-free formulation to soothe damaged or irritated skin.

It seemed like the perfect time to give it a go.

So here’s what happened – I began with La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Overnight. An ultra-soothing overnight care enriched in La Roche-Posay thermal spring water, it combines Niacinamide and Neurosensine to reduce symptoms of morning irritations caused by histamine. (Morning irritations, you say? Sign me up.) I was cautiously optimistic, having tried multiple preparations over the past few months without seeing complete relief from the irritation. However, I had a good feeling about Toleriane, especially since I had read so many positive reviews.

The first week, my life didn’t change. My cheeks were just as irritated as ever. However, after about 10 days – just under two weeks! – I started to see a perceptible difference. Upon waking, the irritation was reduced. My cheeks did not flake or feel tight during the day; they did not burn with irritation when I washed my face at night. It was actually working.

I decided to add Toleriane Ultra in the morning too. And within another week… just about three weeks to the day after I began the regime, I felt like a new person. My cheeks were smooth, the irritation was greatly reduced, and most importantly, my skin felt and looked healthy.
img_3698If you’ve been managing (covering up, trying to soothe, getting frustrated over) skin irritation caused by sensitivities, it’s time to give La Roche Posay Toleriane a try. With a minimum number of ingredients to limit allergy risks, I hope you’ll find your moment of relief, too.

    Hi Lena,
OMG I have been battling the same issue especially during winters…dry blotchy patches on the chin that won’t go away and I have tried everything! Finally I bought Toleriane and let me tell you what a world of difference it makes! It’s the drink of water my skin has been so thirsty for! Will definitely continue to be a fan of Laroche Posay line for sensitive skin such as mine.

I have really sensitive skin, and similar issues that you described having. Finding products that won’t cause more irritation has been really difficult. Sounds like this might be worth looking into for me.

I have such sensitive skin too. I had never heard of this product but would give it a try since I don’t like many ingredients in my cosmetics to possibly aggravate things.
