The Memory Maker

May 24, 2015 By Lena

If you caught my recent post, Things We Don’t Do, you’ll know that one of our struggles, both as a couple and as a family, is taking photos together.

Hence, I was ecstatic to be awarded with a complimentary Memory Maker in Walt Disney World as part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Memory Maker allowed me to download all of my favorite digital photos taken at the park, on rides, with Disney characters and while dining.

We took a ton of photos.

Scanning through the downloads, there are really iconic shots in front of Cinderella’s castle, and thrillingly hilarious photos taken on some of our favourite rides. But my very favourite photos – the ones I will be printing, framing and hanging on my memory wall – are the ones where we’re simply posing as a family. Like this one.
image2 (2)The boys were sweaty from the heat. I was covering up a bad hair day. The background was not nearly as captivating as one you’d expect to see at a Disney Park. But it’s family, and we’re together, and we’re spending time away from the daily grind to enjoy each other. And the moment was captured, for us to cherish for years to come.

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort, consider purchasing a Memory Maker. The advance purchase price is $169.00, and I would consider it a good investment if your vacation is five days or more. Disney PhotoPass photographers can be found at multiple locations throughout each park, and the very best way to get your money’s worth is to always stop and smile for a picture. Most photos are waiting for you in your account within 24 hours, ready for you to download, share and/or print. Bonus: You can not only download your own Disney PhotoPass photos, but also those of Family & Friends who share media with you. So with just one purchase of Memory Maker, you could get all the Disney PhotoPass photos of everyone in your travel party.

Over the next few days I’ll be going through the photos, reliving our magical vacation!

  29. Londia

    August 4, 2015 at 10:20 am

Family photos are hard to get. You want someone else to take. But Disney would also have people who worked there who would still take photos of you with your camera which was very nice. No extra cost for that which was great that they did that.

  30. lori novak

    August 4, 2015 at 10:26 am

I agree! We went to Disney World last year and I wish we had of taken advantage of the Memory Maker package. I brought my DSLR and the cast members were gracious enough to take photos for us, but I think it is a great value!

  63. Meg A

    August 7, 2015 at 3:30 am

I’m intrigued by this new service. It truly sounds wonderful for a vacationing family as it lessens the stress of having a family picture taken by strangers. I admit that I stop taking photos when I get overwhelmed. It also takes time setting up the scene that I want to capture so, I end up taking pictures without me in it. Thank you for sharing what the Memory Maker can do for future vacations in Disney World. It’s almost as if you are a celebrity having someone dedicated to take your photos during your time in the park!
