I’m Part of a Squad. A Home Depot Blog Squad. Fabulous!

February 19, 2015 By Lena

It’s no secret that I’m a little less DIY (“do it yourself”) and a little more DIFM (“do it for me”). And there’s no shame in that! I am happy to keep contractors gainfully employed, and with every home reno and small room makeover we complete, we get a little more confident… a little more creative… and a lot more willing to take on bigger projects.
B-OdvBqCMAAGpIDOf course, taking the time to complete a room facelift or renovation is 50% ability, and 50% inspiration! And as part of the very first Home Depot Blog Squad, I am thrilled to be in the company of some of the most inspiring design and decor bloggers in Canada.

Together, we’ll be tackling small reno projects – with products and advice from Home Depot Canada – and working to encourage YOU to take on some projects of your own. Let’s just say that you can do it, and we can help.

Today, I’d love to share some of the home decor and design projects that have been happening behind the scenes by the #HDBlogSquad.

Tim Lam of Design Maze
Shannon Acheson of AKA Design
Brittany Stager of My Daily Randomness
Jennifer Flores of Rambling Renovators

And… moi! Okay, so I don’t have my small reno project available *just yet*. Between our recent family vacation and a tiny (really, super tiny, like minuscule) plumbing fiasco, we are a bit behind schedule for a laundry room “facelift”.

(Can a laundry room be pretty? I’d like to think so! And trust me, I’m working to make the most of the tiny cell that has been zoned for laundry purposes on our second floor. You can look forward to my reno in the coming weeks!)

In the meantime, check out the DIY’s above, and be sure to follow the #HDBlogSquad hashtag on social to stay on top of our exploits.

Are you currently working on any home renos? Do tell!

Oh this is very exciting for you!! Looking forward to all the wonderful reno posts!!

We rent an apartment so no renovations on our end, we do do them for our landlord though, I know she has a fair amount lined up for my husband this spring.. so we’ll see!

Wow, that’s so cool you’re part of a Home Depot Blog Squad. I can’t wait to see you laundry reno. I think not only can laundry rooms be pretty but they MUST be pretty! I need every bit of encouragement to make my way down to the never ending pit of clothes that I swear multiply themselves while I’m sleeping! We have no current renos but I’d love to tackle the bathroom. I’ve only asked my Husband 500 times since we’ve owned our home. It usually takes about 1000 requests before I see any progress lol!

Congratulations. I’m more the Do it for me type as well. But we recently moved into a new unfinished house. I’d better get learning…and fast.
I found this child’s cupboard on Pinterest and I think I could do it. That’s on my DIY list as soon as it’s warm enough to paint outside.

That sounds like so much fun! We’re planning a renovation this spring. We’re turning the basement into my brother’s mini apartment (he helps take of my father and I when my mom’s at work) and we’re turning my brother’s upstairs bedroom into a craft room art studio for my mom.

the laundry room always gets the short stick. It too can be the pride and joy of any home. just throw in some accent lighting, a comfy chair, and a side table filled with bubbly wubblies and it can be the home oasis one only dreams of

we are doing home renos, saying hubby is doing most of them. I help by being a gopher for him (go for this, go for that).
Some lawn work, the stair case to upstairs, the Laundry room, etc.
