This summer, we’ve enjoyed a more leisurely pace. Instead of our usual press trips and summer travels, we’ve opted to stick around and enjoy our local attractions instead. Trips to the beach, picnics in the park and lazy evenings on the patio have made it a summer to remember.
However, staycationing in the city is less about packing lists and more about surviving road trips. Especially when travelling with young ones, I find that long car rides can generally be even more stressful than plane rides for the following reasons:
1) Children have way too much stimuli. “Look! We passed a McDonalds. Can we stop for fries and a drink?” This happens a lot. “Mom! He’s touching me!” (looking at me, hitting at me, humming in my direction, etc etc.) This happens more than the requests for McD’s. “Are we there yet?” Ugh.
