Park Hyatt Toronto

This Family Day, Awaken at the Park

February 10, 2014 By Lena

Family: the single most binding element in our lives. Families provide us with a sense of identity and belonging; they are a source of emotional support, nurturing and a shield against self-doubt. The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.

This Family Day, how will you celebrate your loved ones? Will you plan a special day together outdoors? Or will you take in one of the city’s family-friendly attractions? How will you make it memorable? Here’s how.

First, immerse yourself in one of the world’s most multicultural cities as a distinguished guest at Park Hyatt Toronto. Perfectly situated in the heart of the fashionable Yorkville area, and encircled by high-end retail stores and five-star restaurants, the hotel is within walking distance to some of downtown’s most renowned sites, including the Royal Ontario Museum.

For Family Day weekend, take advantage of Park Hyatt Toronto’s Awaken at The Park package – starting at just $199/night, you’ll receive overnight accommodations and a full breakfast for two in the acclaimed Annona Restaurant (children subject to additional fees).

Spend the day in beautiful Yorkville, and enjoy upscale shopping and five star restaurants, all within walking distance from Park Hyatt Toronto. You’ll also discover family friendly attractions that are conveniently accessible from the hotel, including the Bata Shoe Museum, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Science Centre, St. Lawrence Market – plus all downtown Toronto landmarks and attractions.

Back at the hotel, while the kiddos are unwinding from the day’s activities, mom can sneak away to Stillwater Spa. The full-service spa features 17 treatment rooms, a couple’s massage room, aqua therapy room, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, and tea lounge for relaxing before and after Stillwater Spa treatments. A fitness center equipped with the latest equipment is available to spa guests. Stillwater Spa also offers an extensive menu of massage therapies, body treatments and salon services to customize your spa experience….

Give the Gift of Relaxation: Stillwater Spa

April 21, 2013 By Lena

Ah, Mother’s Day. When I was young, it was an opportunity to sum up a whole year’s worth of love and gratitude neatly packaged in the form of a homemade card or breakfast in bed. Often, the cards were messy and misspelled, and the breakfast was inedible… but it was the thought that counted. And now, as an adult (and a mom of two) I understand just how much mothers do – every minute, every day – to ensure that their children are blanketed with love, care and happiness. I realize that we celebrate our mothers once every 365 days… to acknowledge their lifetime of servitude.

Be nice to your mom.

Do one, really-really-really special thing for her this Mother’s Day: Make a promise to honour her more than once a year. To say thank you; to show gratitude, to give love.

Then, spoil her with chocolate. And flowers. And time to herself. And you simply must spoil her with a spa day. My recommendation? Stillwater Spa at the Park Hyatt Toronto.

You may remember that we recently visited the Park Hyatt for a staycation, where we enjoyed a large, family-friendly room, delicious in-room dining and a few special surprises that truly made us feel “celebrated”. At the end of the weekend, I felt rested, rejuvenated and ready to take on the world… with one *tiny* regret: that I didn’t make an appointment at the renowned Stillwater Spa.

Recognized among the best spas in Toronto, Stillwater Spa at Park Hyatt Toronto Yorkville is an indulgent escape from urban demands. The full-service downtown Toronto spa features 17 treatment rooms, a couple’s massage room, aqua therapy room, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, and tea lounge for relaxing before and after Stillwater Spa treatments. Stillwater Spa uses innovative, trendsetting products to achieve well being and bestow tranquility.

And, they happen to share my vision of celebrating mothers for more than one day….

Park Hyatt Toronto: Staycation in Style

April 3, 2013 By Lena

Years ago, when I first heard the term “Staycation”, I was confused. Why in the world would anyone want to vacation in their own hometown?, I wondered. Vacations were for jetting off to sunny destinations, packing your suitcases and leaving your cares behind. Obviously.

Of course, that was before I had children. And all of a sudden, the opportunities for jetting off to sunny destinations became few and far between, and I found myself caught up in an endless cycle of grocery shopping, mortgage payments and laundry. Oh, the neverending laundry.

But it was a wise person who once said change is as good as a holiday – and he was right, because any change or break in one’s usual routine is enough to revive the spirit. Hence, I quickly became a huge fan of the ol’ staycation, which allowed me to take a break from the mundane – all without leaving the city limits.

This past Easter weekend, our staycation adventures took us to the Park Hyatt Toronto. Nestled in the heart of the fashionable Yorkville area of Toronto, the hotel represents “an elite level of luxury marked by subtle contemporary influence.” And while one wouldn’t necessarily think to put the hotel at the top of the list for family staycations, please hear me out – because I’m about to show you why the Park Hyatt will always be at the top of our list.

Arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by a sight you can only see in Yorkville; a Cadillac Escalade, a Maserati and a Rolls Royce, all within a few feet of each other. Let’s just say I was thankful we had just been through a car wash with our decidedly mid-level SUV….
