Confession: I’m not very savvy when it comes to automobiles.
In fact, in the 20+ years that I’ve been a driver (which is probably mathematically impossible since I’m like, only 25-years old) I’ve managed to locate the ignition, the windshield wipers and (maybe) the fuel tank. It’s embarrassing, I agree – but with a little luck, to date I haven’t had a major malfunction which required immediate assistance.
Still, I live in fear.
What if my engine light goes on in the middle of nowhere? Or, if I’m in an accident, do I have to go with the first tow truck that shows up on the scene? If I do incur damage to my car, how do I know that I’m being quoted fairly for routine and not-so-routine maintenance and repairs?
