Breville the Bambino Plus: We Be Frothin’

December 17, 2018 By Lena 6 Comments

Confession: I called my husband and asked him if this title was “funny and cool”.
Further confession: His opinion matters, because he’s my personal barista.

I’m not sure when it happened, but it did: at some point in our relationship, I stopped making coffee. Morning after morning, it just became tradition for my husband to bring me a steaming, aromatic mug of much-needed caffeine. In fact, I became so accustomed to the arrangement that in the rare circumstance I was saddled with the task, I became flustered with even the most basic machines.

The good news? My husband is happy to accept the responsibility, so my life – in terms of my coffee consumption, especially- is actually perfect.

Of course, since he’s spent years honing and perfecting his craft, my husband loves to test out any and all of the coffee makers, espresso machines, and everything coffee-related in between, that he can get his hands on.
Therefore, when the Breville the Bambino Plus arrived at our door for review (and to give away! Read on for the link), I could tell that my husband had ascended to java nirvana.

What makes the Bambino Plus different from your average at-home espresso maker? Think of it as café quality coffee in a compact footprint. Here’s what you can expect:

– The automatic steam wand allows you to adjust the milk temperature and texture
– “Thermojet” heating system achieves the optimum extraction temperature in 3 seconds
– The 54mm porta-filter with 19 grams is the key for full flavour and café quality coffee
– Digital Temperature Control (PID) delivers water at precisely the right temperature

And for the coffee enthusiasts who may not be following along with the shop talk? Just know that it makes a great cup of coffee, espresso, latte, cappuccino – you name it – in sheer minutes. And when I say great, I mean exceptional.
To be perfectly transparent, we own one of those super-automatic espresso machines. It’s pricey, takes up a lot of space on the counter, and due to its high sensitivity, spends more time in the repair shop than in our home. But my husband hasn’t used it in several weeks – coincidentally, about as long as we’ve owned the Breville the Bambino Plus.

If you’re wondering if the Bambino Plus can stand up to the “big guys” quality-wise, have a peek at my Instagram Stories stored under my “Home” tab. There, you’ll find a step-by-step of my husband creating the most delicious cafe latte I’ve ever had.

You can also WIN a Breville the Bambino Plus, valued at $699, over on my Instagram page! Click here to be taken directly to the contest, which ends on December 23, 2018.
Are you serious about seriously good coffee and espresso-based beverages? Come on over to the froth side with the Breville the Bambino Plus.

This would be a great little machine to surprise my husband with, he loves his strong coffees and this one doesn’t take up all the counter space either!

Both my husband and I love coffee so I’m always wondering why we don’t have this yet?! It would definitely be worth the investment – we would being using it at least once a day… Nothing cheers me up like a nice latte!
