Beat the Morning Rush: It’s as Simple as #SteepSleepEat!

March 30, 2018 By Lena

I’ll be honest: when my friends at Quaker reached out and asked me to take a “Hassle Free Morning” Challenge, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, mornings ‘round here are crazy. Between getting two (sometimes three, all non-morning) family members off for the day, prepping my to-do list, fitting in a quick workout (maybe), writing a witty and engaging blog post (that’s why you’re here, right?) and about a million other little things that are somehow the responsibility of the person who answers to “mom”, I didn’t need the added stress of a challenge, TYVM.

BUT WAIT! Upon further inspection, it appeared that the point of the challenge was to alleviate some of my morning stress; the NEW Quaker Overnight Oats with Quinoa and Flaxseed products are designed to deliver a tasty and nourishing addition to breakfast with MINIMAL FUSS!

Dear Quaker: I’m all in.
First things first – if you haven’t tried making overnight oats, you’re missing out. They’re one of the easiest ways to enjoy a comforting and satisfying serving of oatmeal in the morning, and the best part is, they’re made the night before!

Alas, admittedly, even the somewhat minimal prep work of overnight oats can be too much for me to take on, and I don’t make them as often as I should. But then, much to my delight, Quaker made it even easier for me to enjoy oats in the morning! NEW Quaker Overnight Oats with Quinoa and Flaxseed are pre-mixed with delicious fixin’s like Toasted Coconut & Almond and Walnut, Raisin & Honey flavour.
There are just two super simple steps: 1) pour milk (or your favourite milk substitute) into the container up to the clearly marked fill line, and 2) put it into the fridge to cold-steep overnight. The 100% whole grain oats will soften as they soak in the milk, creating a perfectly creamy and flavourful addition to your complete breakfast. Yum!

Here’s why I’m obsessed:

1) Quaker Overnight Oats with Quinoa and Flaxseed make my mornings hassle-free. The headline here? 30 seconds of prep work and eight hours of effortless storage in the fridge for perfectly delicious cold-steeped oatmeal. The container comes with a resealable lid which makes it convenient for taking on-the-go, and with fewer dishes to wash, kitchen cleanup is a breeze, too. (Don’t forget to place the container with your recycling!)

2) Quaker Overnight Oats with Quinoa and Flaxseed have got this flavour combination thing down pat. Frankly, the Toasted Coconut & Almond overnight oats are dreamy; earthy, crunchy sliced almonds pair perfectly with slightly sweet, tropical-tasting coconut. The packaged oats are made with 100% whole grain oats, quinoa and flaxseed blended with real fruit and nuts, and no artificial flavours or added colours.
Well, it’s been about a week since I’ve been enjoying NEW Quaker Overnight Oats with Quinoa and Flaxseed and I’ve never been happier to report: Challenge Completed. Overnight oats are a nourishing and satisfying addition to my breakfast with zero fuss! I concur, Quaker: you have made my morning breakfast hassle-free. Now do you have anything that rolls sleepy boys out of bed? (Ahh, it can’t hurt to ask!)

We tried ’em, and they’re good. I don’t love individual packaging for every day, but they come in handy for busy mornings!
