Have you set limits for the use of technology at home? Does your child respect those limits?
Does your child need a phone to stay in contact with you in case of an emergency?
Can you trust your child not to use the phone during school or at other inappropriate times?
Have you talked with your child about the dangers of cyberbullying?
Have you stressed the consequences of sharing inappropriate pictures and/or posts?

If you answered yes to all of the above, your child may be ready for his/her first smartphone.
