Still stuck on what to get dad for Father’s Day? Here’s a unique gift he’ll love!
If you live in the Greater Toronto Area, visit the Best Buy store in Heartland (Mississauga) on Saturday, June 17th from 1PM to 6PM. They’ll be hosting a FREE workshop event where everyone is welcome to design and build their own, customized, one-of-a-kind Father’s Day gift with the help from the Google MakeLab laser printer!
I love that parents and kiddos can work together to make unique, techie-inspired gifts. It’s a creative way to spend quality time together this weekend – exactly what Father’s Day is all about. Plus, while you’re there, you’ll have a chance to browse some of the hottest electronics and gadgets that are sure to be at the top of every dad’s wish list. Here are some of my favourite picks!
Pixel XL Phone by Google. With a 5.5″ AMOLED QHD display and all-day battery life, this smartphone is a playground for entertainment. The Google Assistant answers questions and helps you get stuff done, while Android 7.0 Nougat and a quad-core processor ensure a smooth ride. Record 4K video, snap crisp selfies, and more with Pixel XL, a phone by Google.
My own husband has had his eye on this smartphone, so Saturday may be the perfect day to check it out. I love practical gifts that are fun, too – and the Pixel XL Phone by Google definitely makes the cut. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, which boasts over 1,500 emoji, multi-window view, Virtual Reality mode, and other cool features. The best part? Google Photos provides free unlimited storage of your phone’s full-resolution photos and videos for the life of your Pixel Phone by Google. Way to preserve those memories!
Google Chromecast Ultra. Enjoy all of your endless entertainment options in breathtaking 4K with Google Chromecast Ultra. This premium TV streaming device takes the best from Chromecast and throws in faster processing speeds and up to 4K UHD and HDR picture quality. Plug it into your TV, connect to your Wi-Fi network, and enjoy up to 4K content, all controlled using your mobile device.
Hello! The ability to navigate a whole world of entertainment all from my smartphone or tablet? Yes please! Forget dear old dad… I want this!
Google Chromebook. I know quite a few of my readers are still a bit confused when it comes to Chromebooks. Simply put, the Google Chromebook is internet-dependent – which means it not come equipped with a typical operating system. Instead, Chrome OS is web-based, which enables it to be faster, simpler, and more secure.
Google apps are built right into the Chromebook so you can start doing, playing and sharing right out of the box: connect using Gmail or Google+ Hangouts, access your music and movies from Google Play Music and Google Play Movies or create your own home movies using the YouTube Video Editor. Perfect for a tech-savvy dad! And so many options, too.
Make some time this Saturday, June 17th to pop into the Best Buy store at Heartland from 1PM to 6PM. And for those who can’t make it, I have a very special giveaway for you! One lucky reader will win a Google Chromecast! To enter, simply fill the form below with your qualifying entries. Good luck – and to all the dads and dads-to-be celebrating, Happy Father’s Day!
