Ho-Ho-How’s that holiday shopping coming along?

If you’re like me, you’ve already put a dent in your to-do list. Parents? Check! Husband? Check! Kids….?? Okay, so I *still* have a little bit of shopping left to do. The thing is, kids are notoriously difficult to shop for, because there are just too many amazing toys to select from!

LEGO or Air Hogs? Dolls or a dream house? NERF Blasters or Micro Machines?

Never fear, friends – I’m here to narrow down the options in the best possible way – by sharing Canadian Tire’s Top Toys for Christmas, straight from Santa’s Workshop!

No, really. I’ve been there.
img_3891It gets better. Last week, I hosted a very special Mom’s Night Out for some of my favourite Toronto influencers! With very special instructions for how to make it to the North Pole (it’s a secret, after all) we gathered for a night of food, girl talk and merriment. 

And toys! Just look at these toys!

I fondly recall visiting the store as a young girl; strolling through the aisles, making a mental list of all the things I just *had* to include in my letter to Santa. And while he didn’t gift me with everything that I asked for, Santa always seemed to know what I wanted most.

Today, I still have many of the toys stashed away in my parents’ basement, preserved over the years due to my reluctance to part with them completely. They represent the magic of Christmas, the wonder of childhood, and most importantly, the happiness I felt each and every time I played with them. And even though my mom nudges me from time to time to stop by and clear the toys out, the truth is, I like knowing they’re there, still a part of my family, still a part of me.

Now you may be thinking, Come on Lena, it was great to stroll down memory lane with you, but what’s hot for *THIS* year?

I thought you’d never ask. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing 2016’s Top Toys!

Disney Princess Ariel Doll. My favourite Princess! Enter a magical world under the sea with Ariel. Air Hogs Star Wars Death Star Battle. I’m going to plead the fifth here, but that’s only because any 10-year old could do a better job describing this toy than I could. But it’s for that very reason that you *know* it will be a best seller this year; the Star Wars Air Hogs Battle Set features unique augmented realities to battle the Death Star and recreate your favourite battle scenes from Star Wars. Suitable for ages 8+. (Or any kid that’s smarter than you.)

Go! Go! Smartwheels Ultimate RC Speedway. Go! Go! Get this toy! It’s the most exciting way for your wee ones to learn while having fun.
