You do it. I do it. At one time or another, we all do it.
We compare ourselves to other parents – specifically, the filtered, staged and cropped images we see in our social feeds. Even though these images often depict a filtered reality, and not the real picture.
It’s time to #stopCOMPAREnting.
To celebrate the real side of parenting – the one we don’t always see through our social media feeds – QUAKER is calling on Canadian families to join the #stopCOMPAREnting movement and embrace life outside of the square. On Tuesday, November 29th, join us for a very special Twitter Chat.
Bring your photos and your stories that celebrate the real side of parenting. Look beyond the image and revel in the authentic, unpolished everyday moments. Be inspired and inspire others in return. And most importantly, #stopCOMPAREnting.
There is no RSVP for this chat; simply join the conversation by following @QuakerCanada and @Listen2Lena on Twitter. See you on Tuesday night!

I definitely agree with you Lena! All parents educate and take care of their kids differently. We shouldn’t be comparing ourselves to others. Everyone is good at parenting in their own ways.
Cheryl
I find myself comparing often and often being my biggest critic!
Chandra O'Connor
Sometimes I found myself comparing myself but it passed.

I don’t think we were ever inside that box, I gave up giving a hoot what others thought long ago. But we also had no internet or people taking pictures of everything probably why we survived

When i had my first,i found myself comparing myself but by the second came i realize that parents all do things differently.

This is such great advice. Parents should definitely stop comparing themselves to other parents. Every situation is unique.
Judy Cowan
Some great advice and it so true that we need to stop comparing what we do to others. Every family is different and we need to embrace that.

Unfortunately people judge before putting themselves in other people’s shoes…or people feel like they’re not good enough. I agree with you 100%.
