I don’t often dedicate an entire blog post to endorsing a cake. I mean, cake is cake, right? Except, when that cake is the single most delicious dessert I’ve ever tried, I tend to make an exception.
La Rocca Creative Cakes is honouring thirty years of Canadian celebrations, special moments and craveable indulgences with a uniquely designed, limited edition Greatest Hits Cake. The layered creation will be headlining at participating grocery stores starting on September 30th, 2016.
Last Friday I received the sweetest delivery – a chance to experience the delightful indulgence in advance of its release. The cake, which highlights a melange of La Rocca’s fan-favourites through the years, comes together brilliantly in one layered delicious dessert.
“The essence of tradition is a main ingredient in La Rocca as a company. We have had the opportunity to celebrate our family’s passion for inspired desserts and recipes in Canada by opening our first bakery here thirty years ago”, shares Michael Givens, President of La Rocca. “To honour the story of our beginnings and the many milestones between then and now, we wanted to design a special cake for our thirtieth celebration. The Greatest Hits Cake is a way to recognize our traditions and beginnings while still creating something new and remarkable”.

Base: Devil’s Food Chocolate Sponge Cake
2nd Layer: White Chocolate Truffle
3rd Layer: Chocolate Covered Almond Meringue
4th Layer: Dark Chocolate Truffle
5th Layer: Red Velvet Sponge Cake
6th Layer: Signature Cream Cheese Icing
Topping: Edible ‘Pearls’ which are the symbol of the 30th Anniversary
