Our Ritual, Our Togetherness: Nespresso Evoluo

June 13, 2016 By Lena

Hands down, my husband and I are really, really bad at gift giving.

It goes something like this: I’ll say I don’t want anything, because I really don’t. He’ll ask and suggest and try his best to find a gift I’ll love – only to abandon all attempts and concede that when I want something, I’ll simply buy it myself.

He’ll say he’s good, there’s nothing he wants… except that $5,000 watch and the $2,500 audio system or a $10,000 European vacation. I’ll laugh and serve him breakfast in bed (maybe) and tell him I’ll think about his wish list (unlikely).

This year, I’ve decided to go back to basics, and think about the things that make us happiest; the products we use in our everyday lives that bring us closer and strengthen our love. For us, it’s our coffee ritual. Our morning coffee is a chance to go over the flow of the day; who will be home, who’s got the kids, who’s in charge of dinner and what needs to get done. Our afternoon coffee happens any time we can fit it in; if we’re both working from home, it happens around 2:00pm. If my husband is on the road, it may take place at 5:00pm. But we never have that second coffee alone – it’s part of our routine, part of our togetherness.

The only caveat: the coffee must be delicious, and it must be easily, quickly brewed. I’ve dabbled in single-serve coffee makers in the past, reluctantly sacrificing quality for convenience. “It’s so easy!” I’ve declared. “It’s so convenient!” I’ve parroted.

And it was. They were. But they weren’t Nespresso.
DSC_0513Nespresso revolutionizes the world of coffee with Evoluo. Using the unique and innovative Centrifusion and barcode reading technology of the VertuoLine system, Evoluo brews both large-cup, high-quality coffee and authentic espresso with ease and effortless maintenance. This technology guarantees that each precisely portioned cup of coffee is brewed to perfection and finished with a silky and generous crema – a sign of world-class coffee.

For those familiar with Nespresso VertuoLine, Evoluo features slight design changes, including five adjustable positions for optimal cup positioning whether brewing an espresso, cappuccino, large-cup coffee or iced coffee beverage. With five color options, including Piano Black, Silver, Titan, Grey and Cherry Red, and two style and size choices, there is an Evoluo for all style preferences and needs.

Of course, most importantly, the quality: only the top one to two percent of coffee beans meet the rigorous standards to become Nespresso coffee. The VertuoLine range features ten large-cup coffees and four espresso blends with different intensities and taste profiles, including three exceptional flavored coffees (Vanilla, Caramel and Hazelnut), a half-caffeinated espresso and two decaffeinated varieties (one coffee and one espresso).

Coffee house beverages, on demand. It’s as good as it sounds – maybe even better. Since discovering the Evoluo two months ago, we’ve been to the Nespresso store at Sherway Gardens three times to purchase additional capsules. (I recommend Vanizio and Melozio.) Remember my promise to only feature the brands and products I love? This is a product we are addicted to.
DSC_0511And so, every day, I look forward to our coffee ritual. I anticipate his grin as he hands me my cup; he anticipates my sigh as I take the first sip. We marvel at the smooth, velvety taste and heady aroma. We revel in our twosome, in our closeness.

This Father’s Day, start your own ritual with the Nespresso Evoluo. Purchase a VertuoLine coffee machine between June 10 and June 23, 2016 and you’ll receive 25% off the suggested retail price. And, if you purchase a VertuoLine coffee machine and a minimum of 50 VertuoLine capsules between June 10 and June 23, 2016, you’ll also receive a $25 credit. Full details here.

The gift of coffee, the gift of love, the gift of time. Guess we’re not so bad at gift giving after all.

I used to have a really good coffee machine that even ground the coffee beans for each cup. Now that I’m older I find it better for me to just drink Nescafe which I love. :-)

I’m not a fan of espresso, it’s a little harsh for me, but I do enjoy lattes. My brother-in-law loves coffee & espresso that is beyond strong so this would be a great Christmas gift for him!
