If you’ve been following me on social for the past three weeks (and you really should have been!) you may have noticed me sharing my best Butterball Canada #ButterballMakesItEasy tips and tricks.
Those who joined the fun had a chance to win amazing prizes from Butterball and SHOP.CA! Last week, I posed the question to my Facebook fans:
“What is your BEST tip to make the holidays easier?”
I was thrilled with the response (over 200 of y’all weighed in!) and am happy to share a selection of your tips today!
Melita Snow says: Shop online to avoid the parking, lineups and crowds!
Tiffany Shuster says: Try not to go overboard with shopping and spending too much money on presents! Instead… go nuts on spending time with your family and friends! (Love this one!)
Jes SC says: Stay organized and try not to put pressure on yourself to make everything perfect. Things will fall into place.
Lisa Livingston Paquette says: Give more experiences (movie nights, concert tickets, etc.) rather than “things”.
Allie Futterer says: Always delegate by organizing a pot luck around holiday meals.
Josh Siemens says: Plan ahead! And hide some of the desserts for yourself before you put them out for the guests. (Absolutely!)
Karla Sceviour says: Make your cookies and loaves, etc ahead of time and freeze for easy access any time of the holidays.
Holly Daniels says: Don’t try to be Superwoman (or Superman). Plan ahead, ask for help, and most importantly… take the time to enjoy the time with family and friends.
Tara Jensen says: Don’t be afraid to ask for HELP. Throw a wrapping party with your friends, do a potluck Christmas dinner…. there’s no point stressing during the holidays, they should be enjoyed.
Melissa Stiles says: Always have a gender neutral backup gift! There’s always that one person that you either forgot or didn’t expect a gift from!

Of course, if I had just one tip to share this Christmas? Try Butterball Stuffed Whole Turkey. Simply remove the frozen turkey from the plastic bag, place it on a rack in a shallow roasting pan, brush the skin with vegetable oil and roast according to the time listed on the roasting chart. (Click here for full instructions.) Et voila! Tender, juicy turkey that’s perfect every time.
To make sure the main attraction goes off without a hitch, you can also take advantage of the following resources:
Online Cooking Tips. Found on Butterball Canada’s website, you’ll find FAQs and tips to all the questions you may have about cooking a turkey from frozen. (In fact, Butterball turkeys are stuffed immediately after processing when they are at their freshest, and are then blast frozen so there is no opportunity for bacterial growth. Peace of mind – check!)
Turkey Calculator. Here’s where you’ll find the most precise cooking time for your turkey. The calculator is simple to use and allows you to plan for variables such as weight, number of guests, frozen or thawed, and more.
Turkey Talk-Line. For more than 30 years, the professionally trained turkey experts that make up the Turkey Talk-Line have been answering turkey related questions each holiday season. This year, they’re available right through to Thursday, December 24th 2015. Just call 1-800-BUTTERBALL and select Option 3 to speak with a Turkey Talk-Line Representative.
This Christmas, make it easy! Wishing you all a delicious holiday!
