Let’s Talk Baby with Walmart Canada

December 1, 2014 By Lena

I wouldn’t say I’m a perfectionist. Far from it! But if there’s one thing I loathe – one thing that scrapes at my nerves in the worst way – it’s being wrong, when I really should have known better. Like a simple math problem completed incorrectly on a test in elementary school. Or a misjudged parallel parking attempt. Or really, pretty much everything I registered and purchased for my first baby before he was born.

Wow, I was colossally bad at that.

The wrong baby bottles. The wrong bouncer. The too-expensive playpen and the not-expensive-enough travel system. But I mean, really, for myself, and every new mom or mom-to-be who is confronted with literally thousands of options, of course it’s a daunting task! And it’s only natural to make some mistakes along the way. Thinking back, I wish I had someone to consult over the items I purchased and registered for; more than a store employee simply pointing me to the right section.

Someone who actually had expert advice to share. Someone who could have stopped me from buying eight pacifiers… for babies 6 months+. Groan.

Are you expecting a baby? Do you feel like you’re in the same boat? I’m pleased to share some exciting news: Select Walmart Canada baby departments will feature in-store specialists to provide support and product knowledge to new and expecting parents. This initiative follows last month’s announcement of its baby registry and resource centre available at Walmart.ca.
Lets-Talk-Baby-FINAL-780-778x422On Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at select stores, shoppers can look for in-store specialists at the “Let’s Talk Baby” kiosk, and for the first three weeks, specialists will also be available on Thursdays.

(Psst! Don’t be afraid to pop by with any product-related query you may have. Moms aren’t the only ones with questions, and Walmart’s baby departments are ready to support shoppers and provide helpful tips to make this an easy transition for everyone.) …

Walmart Celebrates its Newest Arrival… Aww.

October 10, 2014 By Lena

There are very few times I wish I could rewind the clock and be a new mom again. Truth is, I’m quite happy to be the mother of school aged children, thank you very much! Main reason? The fact that they go away for seven hours each weekday, duh.

However, this is one of those times that I really wish I could experience it all over again – and of course you know it has something to do with shopping!

Walmart Canada, Canada’s number one retail banner for infant care, announced on Thursday the official launch of its new baby registry on walmart.ca to help Canadians get ready for a new baby on the way. The registry features a broad assortment of baby products from diapers and bottles to cribs and strollers as well as more than 1,500 online exclusives at Walmart’s everyday low prices.
Walmart Baby RegistryYE GODS! *Why* was this not around when I had my two little guys? As you all know (or should know)… I practically live at Walmart. No joke, some of the cute stock boys know me when they see me. And thinking back to my boys’ infant years, I was constantly buying products from Walmart’s baby department, whether it be diapers or formula, play yards or toys. …

Warning: Ovaries in Overload

February 26, 2014 By Lena

Hands UP if this makes your ovaries ache. I can’t stand the cuteness. Can’t even deal.

I’m excited to share the news: Carter’s Child of Mine apparel is now available at Walmart Canada – in stores and online! The adorable selection of mix-and-match, two and three piece sets for boys and girls are priced below $10. Yup, under ten bucks! If you’re like me and have a new baby to spoil (hello little niece!), this is great news – now I can give the gift of fashion – like this Child of Mine by Carter’s Monkey Dress – for just $6.94, about the price of a venti frappuccino. I know, right??
Styles range in size for newborns, infants and toddlers (sizes 0-24). And remember, you can shop in the comfort of your own home and enjoy free shipping every day with Walmart.ca. So… anyone’s ovaries aching a wee bit?

Walmart Online at 11:38pm? Don’t Mind if I Do!

December 11, 2013 By Lena

You all know my obsession with shopping at Walmart Canada during off-peak hours. Yes, I am that girl, bundled up at 7:00am on a Sunday morning, pushing her cart through gloriously non-trafficked aisles. It’s probably one of the best feelings in the world!

Of course, the only snag in the ol’ plan is the fact that I actually have to bundle up and leave my house at 7:00am. Hence, when I heard about Walmart’s brand new e-commerce site, to say I was tickled pink is an understatement.

“Walmart Canada is looking to re-define the way customers shop online with the launch of its new e-commerce site. The newly redesigned site ensures customers get a seamless browsing experience , whether they’re shopping on a traditional desktop or laptop computer, a Smartphone or a tablet. Designed with a “tablet and touch” sensibility, the site features advanced functionalities such as a best-in-class search tool, location-based and personalized services, a simplified one-page checkout process and a guest checkout option, which allows customers to shop online without having to create an account.” – Walmart Canada

Good News: The new www.walmart.ca features a larger product selection across key categories such as baby, electronics, home and dry grocery.

GREAT News: There is FREE standard shipping on EVERY purchase – that’s right, no minimum spend!

Recently, Walmart reached out to me to see if I’d like to participate in a shopping challenge; spend $100 on items I’d normally shop for in-store using their new e-commerce site. Well, you know me – challenge accepted!…
