Confession: I’ve always kind of adored Emma Stone. (And her current boyfriend, but that’s another blog post.)
In fact, when she first burst onto the scene in the teen comedy Superbad, I tidily predicted that her days as a supporting actress in an ensemble piece were numbered – confident that her charm, wit and polished girl-next-door looks would elevate her to superstar status in no time.
And now, a mere six years later and after a string of box office hits including Crazy, Stupid, Love., The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man, she’s happily adorning the red carpet with Ryan Gosling (I just fainted) in their upcoming crime film Gangster Squad.
And if there’s one thing I love about Emma Stone most, it’s her red carpet moments. What a treat for the eyes! Always elegant, always beautifully done. She is the epitome of “fun fashion” – taking risks at appropriate times and in appropriate places.
This past Monday night she arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of Gangster Squad looking absolutely flawless in a crimson Lanvin dress.
While I loved her fashion choice, I was particularly smitten with her beauty ensemble. Perfectly defined eyes – on trend in smoky shades of emerald green; subtly bronzed cheeks and the palest of crimson lip stains. And, she resisted the temptation to play matchy-matchy with her fingernails, instead opting for au naturel tips. It is red carpet perfection.
I spent the better part of Tuesday morning trying to dissect her look – which eye shadow? What lipstick? Thankfully, US Magazine picked up on her “Flawless Look” and published everything you need to recreate it:
“I wanted to create a very glamorous look inspired by (her red dress),” said her makeup artist Rachel Goodwin. “I played with jewel tones on the eyes and lips and kept the skin looking dewy for a modern twist.”
