If there’s one thing Canadians need to collectively do, it’s seize the summer. Especially *this* summer.
Okay, so we’ve had a slow start. But before we know it (fingers crossed), we’ll be well into the hot weather, the patio parties, and of course, the barbecues! Ah, barbecue.
(Spoiler Alert: Why yes, this IS a photo of me with celebrity Chef Corbin in front of a barbecue. What are we up to? Read on to find out!)
So, what’s on your menu this summer? I’ve planned for the usual suspects – burgers, ‘dogs and kabobs – and I’ll be grabbing all my mains and fixin’s at Walmart Canada. Hand on heart, it’s my preferred destination for fresh meat and produce!
Everyone knows Walmart as the place to get everyday supplies. But I’d love for you to discover another side of Walmart: great fresh food. Walmart offers a terrific selection of fresh produce, baked goods and meats. In fact, Walmart feels so strongly about their fresh food that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Yep, you read that correctly – if you don’t absolutely love their triple 100% Canadian Angus beef, or their high-quality, locally sourced Maple Leaf Chicken, Canadian pork and salmon, simply present your receipt at the store for a full refund.
But how can we spread the word about Walmart’s delicious, high-quality ingredients and help families find easier, healthier and budget-friendly ways to feed their children? Tailgate parties of course! Hello!
Across Canada, celebrity Chef Corbin Tomaszeski is putting the spotlight on the family barbecue, offering simple meal solutions that are sure to please even the pickiest eaters. In addition to creating signature meals with Walmart’s fresh meat selection, tailgate attendees were also treated to Walmart’s wide variety of Canada No.1 grade fruits and vegetables and baked fresh breads.
And, when the tailgate made a stop in Port Credit, Mississauga, I just happened to have a chance to share with Chef Corbin my own barbecue dilemma… on camera!
Pizza on the barbecue? Now that’s FRESH!
Although the weather didn’t cooperate with us during our tailgate, it was no less of a success, with families in the area braving the elements for a chance to get together for a fun-filled party, and the opportunity to sample Walmart’s fresh food. Verdict: two thumbs way up!
Be sure to check out all the #KidApprovedMeals on Walmart’s YouTube channel. You’ll find tons of inspiration for outdoor entertaining, family get togethers and of course, everyday dinner dilemmas. Special thanks to the Walmart Canada Tailgate for stopping by Port Credit in Mississauga! Stay tuned for more stops across Canada all summer long.
