The 411 on The BSO

December 3, 2014 By Lena

Public Service Announcement: If you’re buying your hair care and beauty items from a regular retailer, you’re doing it all wrong.

There, I said it. And I don’t mean to reprimand you; truth is, for a long time, I didn’t know about the Beauty Supply Outlet either. But it’s very hard to deny the appeal of top brands at heavily discounted prices – and if there’s one thing I know, it’s how to get the best deal on items we use most.

Paul Mitchell at 45% off, anyone? Indeed.
the bsoThe Beauty Supply Outlet is your one-stop beauty product supply store that carries professional salon products for all of your hair and beauty needs. Hair colour, shampoos and conditioners, styling products and hot appliances are available from the most trusted brands, including Redken, Matrix, DESIGNLINE, Sebastian, CHI, Avanti, Babyliss, FHI and GA.MA.

Put it under the tree: Sebastian Shaper Hairspray for just $9.99.

the bsoI’ve been a loyal customer of Beauty Supply Outlet for over 10 years – almost as long as I’ve been straightening my hair! I first discovered my local store on a tip from a friend; I was obsessed with the cult-favourite Bed Head by TIGI products – but not so obsessed with the prices. One day, I received a spastic voice message: OMG I just discovered the Beauty Supply Outlet! They have a huge assortment of products at to-die-for prices!
the bsoWho am I to argue with an overly excited girlfriend? I found my nearest BSO (surprisingly, less than 10 minutes from my home) and instantly, I was a believer – to the tune of hundreds of items purchased over the years… and thousands of dollars saved.
the bsoSo what makes them so special? Well, in addition to supplying top brands at fabulous prices, you can also take advantage of their RED HOT DEALS. These are featured sales that change frequently, so it’s in your best interest to pop by on a regular basis to take advantage.

Take last night, for example. I dropped into my local store on Queen Street in Mississauga, and was thrilled to find NIOXIN featured as a RED HOT DEAL. While the litre duos were already packaged at 60% off the regular retail price, the sale took an additional 30% off the bundle.
the bsoNow you may be looking at the price, thinking “65.98? That still sounds pricey to me.” Yeah, maybe. But not for NIOXIN. Priced out in regular retail stores, the equivalent product would sell for close to $300 – yes, $300. So, if you’re a fan of the products, you shouldn’t miss out on this RED HOT DEAL.

Another great thing about BSO? The staff. These are beauty junkies, my friends. Many of the employees have tried almost all the in-store products at least once, which allows them to confidently provide expert advice and endorse different brands based on your needs. They’re also very knowledgeable about styling tools and appliances, so don’t be afraid to seek advice.
the bsothe bsoSo what did I buy? I can’t even believe I’m admitting this, because for years it’s been my little secret. But if you’ve ever looked at my hair and thought – Damn, Lena has a lot of volume at the crown – it’s all thanks to Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus. And at the Beauty Supply Outlet, I was able to find a 2-pack of the Root Pump Plus and Shape & Play Hairspray for 50% off the suggested retail price.
the bso(Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, k? Just go forth and have fabulous hair.)

Another price savings unique to BSO – all OPI Nail Polish retails for $9.95. If you’re a fan of the brand, you’ll know that over the years, the price per bottle has inflated to $11.95. However, Beauty Supply Outlet froze their price on the polish, allowing their customers to purchase it like it’s 2010. How’s that for fabulous savings?
the bsoVisit www.thebso.com to check out their RED HOT DEALS, and be the first to hear about sales and new products by signing up for their newsletter. You’ll also be able to find your nearest Ontario location – trust me, pop in once, and you’ll be a customer for life!BSOLogo

I’ve been looking for a beauty supply close to me and haven’t found any. I just looked locations up on the site, and there is one about 40 min from me. Not terrible… and I’m definitely there enough to be able to stop in! Very exciting!
