And look at that! A completely appropriate smiley face in the post title.
This past summer, I killed it. I told you I would! At the start of the season, I made a commitment to my family that we would seize every weekend and get out, enjoy the weather, take a dip in a pool, do something different, try something new, capture the memories, spend time together…all that and more. And we did it! We totally treasured every moment together (sometimes to a fault; let’s just say that I only have so much patience for two rambunctious boys) and made this summer count.
Don’t believe me? Just stroll through my blog from the past few months. See, told you so.
Looking back, it’s a summer for the scrapbook! And if you’re looking for fun way to share your summer smiles with family and friends, KINDER offers a cool little “Smile Booth” app on KINDER Canada’s Facebook Page. It’s a fun and interactive way for parents to capture and share moments of joy in a playful way. Once you’re a KINDER Fan, it’s just a few simple steps:
Step 1: Fan KINDER on Facebook
Step 2: Start your photo-strip
Step 3: Upload your photos
Step 4: Choose a fancy KINDER frame
Step 5: Choose a filter (make yourself look silly!)
Step 6: Save & share
My photos were slightly too small to apply the silly filters, but you can bet I’ll be zooming in and recreating the script for the boys. Sharing the photo strip is super easy, with a link to share on Twitter and/or Facebook available immediately upon completion.
Where did your summer travels take you? Was it the summer of Flora, Lynda, Jaime, Judy or Chandra? Or maybe… the summer of George? (Any Seinfeld fans out there?)
What was the single best memory from summer vacay 2014? Do tell!
I’m part of the Kinder Mom program and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group.
The opinions on this blog are my own.
They had this booth at a mall in Toronto but I don’t like that they limit it to kids under 12
Oh, that’s too bad! Good news – with the FB app, anyone can do it!
Cute idea! We spend the summer camping, so lots of memories made!
Awesome! Camping + summer = terrific memories!
best summer memory was just playing on the beach in the sun!
Sounds divine Nicky!
Good memories playing with my little ones & a great visit with my sisters
Aw, that sounds great!
Great memories of the beach and the many day trips we took with our grandkids!
So sweet! Thanks for sharing Anne!
Hee hee – I saw what you did in that last paragraph ;)
Unfortunatley my summer didn’t quite go as I had planned – day trips with the grandkids were exchanged with trips to the ER for my son-in-law :( They are getting closer to getting him diagnosed though – and he has to stop beating himself up in the van (or at least wear a helmet) – he gave himself a concussion (again) this week when he whacked his head bending over to pick something up that one of the kids dropped. :(
Oh, I do hope he pulls through and makes a complete recovery. Thinking of you!
looks like lot of fun!
Hope you try it out!
It wasn’t the summer of George and there wasn’t much cheese eaten but we did make a few fun road trips to Montreal, Quebec and PEI.
Sounds like a blast! We wanted to hit Montreal this summer – alas, another time!
This summer was an up and down one… ending with the sad loss of my father in law… time for a new season.
I’m so sorry for your loss Darlene… new seasons are good like that. Fresh perspective :)
my oldest daughter getting engaged
Congrats again Chandra!!!
Haha congrats on ‘killing it’! My partner and I did a lot of mini-getaways which we wanted to do and also managed to get a couple short full getaways in, which made up for the rough year we both had!
That sounds like an amazing summer!
We went on a family vacation to Portugal :)
Gah! That sounds lovely!!
visiting a brewery. that was *hic* fun
Hahaha sounds like it!!
Best memory was…. canoeing with the dog and flipping into the lake in my pretty summer dress :P
OMG Melinda!! What a picture you’ve painted!!
Best summer memory was spending time at the cottage and us going for a ride in a high speed boat. My youngest loved it, me not so much. Equally amazing was visiting Wonderland 4 times this summer.
Both those sound like awesome summer memories!!
We didn’t do too much this summer but lots of family and friend time :)
The best kind of memories!!
awesome .. we also spent the summer camping , we had a wonderful time with the kids and great friends , life gets so busy and its hard to do things together when your kids are moved out , i so miss my kids , so anytime i get with them is the best day ever :)
