*UPDATE* Hello! My super-sleuthy friend @ShopWithRobin just happened to spot Hello Oral Care products at Target – a Canadian Target, that is! So of course I booted it to my local store, and ta-da! Found my very favourite toothpaste ever. Picked up a tube of Mojito Mint, made my way home, and immediately brushed my teeth. BLISS.
Hence, I decided to bump this post from last August, to remind y’all why you need to seek out this product as soon as possible. (And, to be honest, I also wanted to brag about the amazing $24.99 Marshall’s dress again. I haven’t worn it since! Will have to remedy that when – if? – summer finally arrives.) Read on!
It just occurred to me that I COMPLETELY forgot to mention that I was in Chicago last week for BlogHer ’13. Surprise! Apparently, I am able to attend a conference without moaning about what to wear beforehand.
However, since it wouldn’t be a Listen to Lena post without me
bragging casually mentioning the great deal I scored on an outfit, here it is – my very first selfie. Yep! That’s me – selfie posing in the hotel bathroom. And therein lies the reason I don’t selfie more often; I kind of suck at it.
Regardless, the point is to model my maxi dress from Marshall’s, which I paid a cool $24.99 for, marked down from $59.99. I instantly fell in love with the breezy, tropical print (even though the weather in Chicago last week was decidedly UN-trocipal… brrr!). I have a feeling that this dress will be recycled on a future beach getaway. (And now, to plan the beach getaway.)
Okay, I’m really getting off topic. So here’s the scoop. At BlogHer ’13 last week, in addition to having the opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from the best in our business, we were also treated to a plethora of swag at both the exhibitor hall and private parties. Now for every blogger who’ll write an inspirational post about the conference being more than just free stuff (and truly, it is), the fact is that swag and blogging conferences go hand in hand. And from our hands, the swag goes into our suitcases, where we pray that customs officials will waive us through and not flag us for closer inspection. (“I have no idea why I’m bringing home sixteen moisturizers and four bags of granola, no sir, officer, sir.”)
Now I’m certain that the reason we’re bestowed with all these goodies is the chance that we may choose to review, share, or otherwise endorse the products. However, since I have no shortage of blog posts to write without looking for work, I rarely mention the promos and samples that are stuffed into swag bags and doled out by exhibitors. Until now.
I think I’ve found my latest obsession. Nestled deep within a press bag from Walgreen’s – Hello Mojito Mint Toothpaste.
“Hello is a brand of seriously friendly oral care products. The line currently includes a range of 99% natural toothpastes, mouthwashes, and breath sprays in delicious flavors and beautiful packages, as well as a toothbrush made with biodegradable corn resin and recycled plastic.”
At this point, if you’re scratching your head and asking yourself, “Is Lena really raving about a toothpaste? What’s the big deal? It’s just toothpaste.” Back up there sweetheart! This just happens to be the BEST toothpaste I’ve ever had the pleasure of cleaning my teeth with. First, the flavour is DIVINE. Fresh mint with just a hint of lime which gives it an interesting edge. Kind of like meeting Alejandro by the pool on your Cancun vacation, wink. Second, my mouth feels incredibly invigorated after using the product. Without a word of lie, I’ve been finding excuses to brush my teeth! And third, I love that the formula is 99% natural with no harsh chemicals or artificial colors. Take THAT commercial toothpaste. Hello toothpaste is my latest obsession!
You are absolutely beautiful! (just an fyi) Next time one of my daughters goes down to the States, I’ll have her pick up some of this toothpaste! You have me very curious!
Just an FYI – you are so sweet :) I really think you’ll love the toothpaste! My mouth feels SO clean – I’m off to brush my teeth again!
Hi Anne, Lena said this toothpaste was available at Target stores in Canada, so you can try it now, you don’t have to wait for your daughters to go down to the states.
Thanks Donnas! Anne left the comment last summer when I originally published the post, but I’m super grateful that we no longer have to make the trek to the US!
I love your selfie (I suck at them too but now if I have THIS to compare to I’m just going to call it a day!)
AND…thanks for the reminder on the swag bag goodies! While I’ve unpacked some, I do have a whole bag hanging in my closet that I have not gone through and I know that toothpaste is in there – now I have to try it! Too bad you didn’t try it before you left BlogHer, I’m sure you’d have convinced me to trade it…..ha!
Hahaha you crack me up – Ms. Supermodel who was wearing the best dress ever on Thursday night! Yeah definitely go find that toothpaste and use it STAT! You’ll love it, promise.
Awesome photo and gorgeous dress! That toothpaste sounds amazing – I hope they bring it to Canada soon! I’ve been using Tom’s natural toothpaste, would love to give another company a shot – especially if the flavour is mojito!
Thanks Nicole! The flavour is divine! And if you’re a fan of natural toothpastes, I’m curious to see what you think!
As always, you look awesome in your new outfit. I love the combination of colours in the fabric. I do have plans to cross the border sometime next month and I can’t wait to try the new Hello toothpaste. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you! And I definitely think you should check out Hello products – you’ll love the toothpaste!
You look gorgeous as always, love that dress and my favourite drink is anything with lime, I am going to have to get my cousin to send me some of that toothpaste for sure!
You won’t regret it Debbie – the Mint Mojito toothpaste is amazing!!
Sounds like toothpaste worth trying, will pick some up next time we go across
Please do Judy! I really think you’ll love it!
Beautiful dress, Lena! You are on fire with your bargains recently!
It’s true!! Hahaha thanks for noticing!
I guess one of these days I should get my little butt down the street and pay the Marshall’s store a visit (it opened within the last year). Who know I may be sending you a “selfie” of me in a great find ;o)
The toothpaste sounds great (the fewer chemicals in my life the better), but I will have to wait until it comes up to Canada to try it. Hope it gets here soon.
Flora, I would love nothing more than to see your selfie – I just know you’d rock it! And yes, fingers crossed that hello products get here sooner than later :)
That dress is a steal! Marshall’s is one of my favourite places to shop if I don’t have enough time to go shopping at a mall (i.e., the whole day).
Same! Or, when I’m looking for something targeted – in this case, a maxi dress. I find if I go into Winners or Marshall’s without a plan I can sometimes feel overwhelmed….
Mojito toothpaste sounds awesome! I’ll have to look for it the next time I’m in the States!
Please do! We ran out and I am pining away for it!
Wow! Beautiful dress!
& i will so have to try this toothpaste. Im so over all the chemicals in toothpastes.
Me too. And you know what? It really brightens!
I wish that we could get that here!
Do you have a Target near by? Hope so!
Oh your outfit is so lovely! If I looked like you I would love selfies! Hopefully this product will be available in Canada soon.
Available now at Targets in Canada!
GORGEOUS dress, and I still need to try that toothpaste!!
My friend tied supermint and loves it – I’ll be trying that one next!
Lena, you always look so stunning! Love that dress!
I love the packaging of the Hello products. I will be purchasing the toothpaste on my next Target visit.
Thanks Brenda! Let me know what you think!
Is it dentist approved toothpaste I’m very obsessed with my teeth.
I think any toothpaste that is 99% natural is dentist approved :)
I don’t do selfies! I’ve yet to see a ‘bad’ picture of you girlie :)
I’ll have to check this out next time I’m in Target! Thank you.
Thank you, and you’re welcome!
Now I want to try this toothpaste. I will be looking for it on my next trip to target.
Please do! I’ve only seen two of the flavours so far, but pink grapefruit is also very good (cinnamint was my least favourite).
I would love to try this toothpaste, Walmart needs to bring it in as I don’t even have a Target near me :( and you look stunning in that dress!!
I hope Walmart will carry it! That would be a dream!
as a toothpaste connoisseur I will have to investigate this product

If you try it, let me know what you think!
I love how I can remember your posts because they leave such an impression :) I think many of your readers will be off to Target.
Aw, thank you Victoria :) And do let me know what you think!
Haha omg…I must be reading your blog for a really long time because I remember you posting about this product. I hope my Target has this toothpaste. I want to try it now!
I’m happy you remember!!! And even happier the toothpaste is now available to Canadians!
