Need an Escape? The World’s Best Beaches

March 21, 2014 By Lena

Mother Nature, how I detest thee! *ONE* day after welcoming Spring, Toronto is set to welcome 5cm of snow tonight.

Now normally, I’d curl up in a ball with a note attached: “Wake me up when April ends.” However, just in time to pull me from the grips of depression, TripAdvisor has released their annual list of The Best Beaches in the World. To some, it serves as inspiration when planning a tropical getaway. To me, it serves as a reminder that somewhere on this great planet, it is sunny and warm. And that gives me the strength to persevere.

Topping the list this year is Baia do Sancho in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. The rankings are based onĀ trusted reviews and advice from real travellers, adding an element of confidence and authenticity to the selections. The list of 25 beaches covers the world – everywhere from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos to Camps Bay, South Africa. But my money is on Elafonissi Beach in Elafonissi, Greece pictured below… I think there’s just something about pink sand and turquoise water that is so me.

Click here to see the entire list of The World’s Best Beaches. Tell me – which beach will you visit first?

You are lucky with just 5 cm – they are predicting closer to 15 cm here in Barrie :( Hopefully this will be the end of winter !

Did you get the full 15cm Flora? We only got about 1-2cm, thank goodness!

Capitola Beach is pretty sweet. Then again, I haven’t been to many beaches… so I fail on that regard. Still, the one here is nice.

Before going to bed lastnight and letting the dogs out to go potty, it was snowing yep snowing again, so after looking through all those wonderful beaches they all looked so beautiful and warm and breathtaking. Right now the way I feel about this snow I pick to go anywhere where it’s warmer, but one did check my eye and that would be #19 White Beach Boracay, Visayas, would love to be there right now!!!
