Mother Nature, how I detest thee! *ONE* day after welcoming Spring, Toronto is set to welcome 5cm of snow tonight.
Now normally, I’d curl up in a ball with a note attached: “Wake me up when April ends.” However, just in time to pull me from the grips of depression, TripAdvisor has released their annual list of The Best Beaches in the World. To some, it serves as inspiration when planning a tropical getaway. To me, it serves as a reminder that somewhere on this great planet, it is sunny and warm. And that gives me the strength to persevere.
Topping the list this year is Baia do Sancho in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. The rankings are based on trusted reviews and advice from real travellers, adding an element of confidence and authenticity to the selections. The list of 25 beaches covers the world – everywhere from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos to Camps Bay, South Africa. But my money is on Elafonissi Beach in Elafonissi, Greece pictured below… I think there’s just something about pink sand and turquoise water that is so me.

Lanikai Beach Kailua, Hawaii they all looked nice but the colours of the water in picture were wow!
I just checked – and you’re absolutely right. Breath taking!

Grace Bay would be so nice right about now….I am SO done with winter! I think Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that it is Spring!!!!!!
She definitely needs a reminder Judy!!
Anywhere but here!!!! :)
Ha! I totally feel your pain Allie!
Turquoise Bay, Exmouth looks so beautiful (love the colour of the water) :)
You are lucky with just 5 cm – they are predicting closer to 15 cm here in Barrie :( Hopefully this will be the end of winter !
Did you get the full 15cm Flora? We only got about 1-2cm, thank goodness!
I’d take any of them right now.. I am soo done with winter, even though it doesn’t seem done!
I know… I know. Hopefully soon Darlene!
I’d visit any one of them! I don’t usually like the heat, but the above photo makes me yearn for some warm sunshine on my face!
Ah… sunshine on my face… that sounds divine :)
Capitola Beach is pretty sweet. Then again, I haven’t been to many beaches… so I fail on that regard. Still, the one here is nice.
Um… don’t you live by a beach now?? I’d take Cali too!!
That looks beautiful!
It certainly does paint a pretty picture!
At this point —- brrr – any beach will do. :)
I really love the white sand at the Turquoise Bay Exmouth and It looks so long. I could walk all day.
A walk on the beach sounds perfect right now :)
Yep, that’s one gorgeous beach you posted a picture of! The whole list is gorgeous. The best beach I’ve ever been on was on the island of Menorca in Spain! :)
I will definitely have to look that up Nicole!!
Too bad I can’t share my picture of the snow we got overnight – these beaches are calling so strong right now after shoveling for the past hour LOL !
Gah! NO!!! We only got a few cms so it wasn’t too bad… but it wasn’t a beach, either!
I’ve only been to one beach on that list, but hopefully I will get to change that this year!
Amazing! Which beach was it Victoria?
The beach in Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica. What about you? Have you visited any on the list?
Stunning! Sadly no – but hoping to change that in the coming years:)
I would take any beach right about now, especially as the snow falls outside my window as I am typing this!
Gross! I can’t believe it’s still snowing.. this has been the worst winter ever!
Before going to bed lastnight and letting the dogs out to go potty, it was snowing yep snowing again, so after looking through all those wonderful beaches they all looked so beautiful and warm and breathtaking. Right now the way I feel about this snow I pick to go anywhere where it’s warmer, but one did check my eye and that would be #19 White Beach Boracay, Visayas, would love to be there right now!!!
oops that is supposed to say catch my eye, not check. I’m bad LOL
White Beach Boracay, Visayas is a stunning beach, Lynda – but I’m with you, ANY beach will do right now!
Oh, this beach does look heavenly, what gorgeous colours! So looking forward to beach weather!
Me too! It’s nice to think ahead to the warmth :)

Sigh, that would be lovely :) All I want is a beach, a book, and a day of uninterrupted relaxation…
Wouldn’t that be so nice right about now.
Yes it would!
Wow that water looks crystal clear! I dream of an unpolluted world.
Ah, you and me both!
Lanikai beach in Hawaii -just love the colours although any of them would be great.
They’re all stunning. Sigh, one day!
La Cuisine d'Helene
I am at the beach in Florida this week. It’s a nice change from snowy Ottawa. I would love to visit Turks & Caicos.
Ah, enjoy Helene! Bring some warmth back with you!
Looks awesome, thanks for sharing!!
You’re welcome Tanis!
Oh just take me away right now and transport me there. How beautiful.
Ha, me too!
Sadly I’ve never even seen water that clear up close but hopefully I will be able to plan a trip sometime soon so I can dive right in!!
Sounds wonderful! It’s been a long time since I’ve been away to a tropical paradise, I am definitely overdue!

Totally agree Erika!
That beach is gorgeous. I’ve never seen pink sand before.
Me neither! It’s the coral underneath that tints the sand :)
Nice to see that I’ve at least made it to 1 of these beaches..10
Visiting the amazing beaches of our world is on my bucket list.
I’ll settle for one!
Anywhere without snow would be so good! I love the Turks and Caicos for awesome beaches.
Yes, I’d love to get there when the boys are a bit older!
I would love to visit The Baths in the British Virgin Islands but I wouldn’t mind visiting all of them.;)
