This Family Day, Awaken at the Park

February 10, 2014 By Lena

Family: the single most binding element in our lives. Families provide us with a sense of identity and belonging; they are a source of emotional support, nurturing and a shield against self-doubt. The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing.

This Family Day, how will you celebrate your loved ones? Will you plan a special day together outdoors? Or will you take in one of the city’s family-friendly attractions? How will you make it memorable? Here’s how.

First, immerse yourself in one of the world’s most multicultural cities as a distinguished guest at Park Hyatt Toronto. Perfectly situated in the heart of the fashionable Yorkville area, and encircled by high-end retail stores and five-star restaurants, the hotel is within walking distance to some of downtown’s most renowned sites, including the Royal Ontario Museum.

For Family Day weekend, take advantage of Park Hyatt Toronto’s Awaken at The Park package – starting at just $199/night, you’ll receive overnight accommodations and a full breakfast for two in the acclaimed Annona Restaurant (children subject to additional fees).

Spend the day in beautiful Yorkville, and enjoy upscale shopping and five star restaurants, all within walking distance from Park Hyatt Toronto. You’ll also discover family friendly attractions that are conveniently accessible from the hotel, including the Bata Shoe Museum, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Science Centre, St. Lawrence Market – plus all downtown Toronto landmarks and attractions.

Back at the hotel, while the kiddos are unwinding from the day’s activities, mom can sneak away to Stillwater Spa. The full-service spa features 17 treatment rooms, a couple’s massage room, aqua therapy room, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, and tea lounge for relaxing before and after Stillwater Spa treatments. A fitness center equipped with the latest equipment is available to spa guests. Stillwater Spa also offers an extensive menu of massage therapies, body treatments and salon services to customize your spa experience.

Finish the day with in-room dining or a table at the famed Annona Restaurant. With local, seasonal offerings and traditional favorites created by award-winning Executive Chef Joan Monfaredi, Annona is preferred by locals and celebrities alike. The restaurant offers new prix-fixe menus monthly, new full menus quarterly and is open seven days per week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and offers Sunday brunch.

When night falls, enjoy a restful sleep at the luxury hotel. Your welcoming 400 square foot guest room will feature well-appointed interiors, with a sumptuous King bed or two Double beds, furnished with ultra-soft feather duvet bedding (non-feather available upon request). Keep in touch at your oversize work area, while utilizing complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Allow the 24 hour Concierge to see to your family’s every need. The gracious service and personalized approach to hospitality ensure a truly unforgettable stay.

The next morning, as part of your Awaken at the Park package, enjoy your full breakfast for two in the acclaimed Annona Restaurant. Start the day with the pastry chef’s selection of handcrafted delicacies. Enjoy hand-squeezed orange or grapefruit juice and experience the ultimate in gourmet cuisine, whether it’s with a Breakfast Tasting featuring Peameal Benedict, Belgian Waffles and Quebec Maple Syrup or a St. Lawrence Omelet filled with Manchego, Pitted Spiced Olives and Fresh Herbs.

Sounds tempting? It certainly does to me – and that’s exactly why I’m so thrilled to be a guest of the Park Hyatt Toronto this Family Day weekend. I have a day at the Royal Ontario Museum planned, have stocked up on colouring books and activities for in-room fun, and cannot wait to savour in the gastronomic delights of Annona restaurant. Time spent with my family + a luxury hotel in Toronto with an incredibly Awaken at the Park package = total bliss. Hope to run into some readers this weekend! You know where I’ll be. Every day is family day for me :) I try to see my grandkids as often as possible and am always thinking about them… I grew up in Toronto, so I have visited most of these places often. Come summer I would like to take the older grandkids so they can experience them as well – especially the ROM and Science Centre. I miss not being able to get to the St. Lawrence Market for my fresh meat, seafood, cheese and veggies (and also just to wander around).

You’ve painted such a lovely picture, Flora! While in Toronto this summer, don’t forget to pop by the Park Hyatt for lunch or brunch!

Having a getaway mini vacation at a local hotel can not only give you that escape you have been needing but also a piece of mind, that you are not too far away from home
