Farmers Feed Cities: The Thanksgiving Table

October 11, 2013 By Lena

This Thanksgiving, as we celebrate our loved ones, cherished friends, and of course, our plentiful harvest – I’d love to share this photo from Farmers Feed Cities. It provides a lovely visual of how important Canadian farmers are to our economy, well-being, and especially our celebration this weekend. And while I wish I had an infographic for every province across Canada, I’m sure you can appreciate the symbolism and merit just the same. #thankafarmer

Thank you for the visual, it is so important to thank our farmers. We have been changing our shopping ways this summer and have started to go right to the farms for some our products – meat, eggs & veggies. The quality is superior and it is nice knowing that we are supporting them.

This is a really wonderful visual and full of such great information. Although its Ontario specific, I’m sure we can all relate across the country!

I am going to be sure that we thank the farmers when we sit down to our Thanksgiving meal this year! They work so hard to feed all of us!

I will be sending this on (or printing it) for my grandchildren – very appropriate for this time of year. It’s such a shame that so many farms are being bulldozed for the ever expanding urban sprawl :(

That’s such a powerful reminder, and a timely one, given the pending free trade agreement with the EU.

I hope you had the loveliest of lovely Thanksgivings.
