If you’ve been reading my blog over the last few weeks, you’l know that fashion’s favourite season is upon us! There’s just something about the transition from tank tops to tall boots that has every stylista craving a change of pace, scenery, and of course – wardrobe!
One of my favourite places to check out affordable Fall fashion? The Shopping Channel (TSC). And now, they have even more covet-worthy collections to add to your list from Montreal-born, New York-based Canadian fashion designer Guillaume Poupart.
“As one of the most coveted TSC designers, Guillaume’s exclusive collection of modern and sophisticated – yet affordable – fashions have been worn by thousands of Canadian women. Featuring true style staples for the upcoming season and beyond, Guillaume’s collection combines fashion and function with his iconic best-selling washable suede, and versatile pieces perfect for the office or a night out, including edgy leather jackets and trendy knit blazers.”
Now I’ve got 3 AMAZING tidbits to share with you, including a HOT DEAL and a FAB CONTEST! You won’t want to miss this.
First, the news of the day: Today’s Showstopper at The Shopping Channel is this gorgeous Guillaume Winter Glamour Reversible Jacket, for just $159.90!
Keep cozy and bundled up this season in this reversible faux fur coat from Guillaume. This winter essential was specifically designed for Canadian women who want warmth, style and practicality all in one timeless coat. It is cut with Guillaume’s signature princess seams, giving you ample room to layer while keeping your figure as trim as possible. The fabric side is made of water resistant microfiber and the fur side is a faux sheared mink that is ultra-soft and cozy.
Available in a variety of modern styles, this stunning reversible coat was crafted exclusively for The Shopping Channel and it’s only available here. (You’ll also save an additional $9.98 because shipping on this item is FREE!)
• Realistic fur trim around the hood, front placket and cuffs add the perfect touch of luxury and glamour
• Cuffs are adjustable and can be rolled up or down
• Pockets on the faux fur side are lined with plush velvet that will keep your hands warm
• Faux horn buttons and elastic loop closures at the front replicate the look of real fur lined outerwear
• Button closure, slim fit, water resistant on fabric side
Okay, here’s the deal. Normally I’m not a fan of the faux fur look, unless it’s understated. So you’d think that I’d like this jacket when it’s reversed to the fabric side with fur accents. However, the good folks at The Shopping Channel sent this very coat (pictured right) to me earlier this week, and I AM IN LOVE with the all-over fur look! It’s a stunning coat and I can’t wait for winter to arrive so I can show it off. And at just $159.90, I can certifiably confirm that this is a STEAL of a Showstopper!
Check out all the fabulous colour options here.
(For sizing reference, I was sent a Small and there’s a LOT of room. I’m normally a Medium (size 6-8) so if you’re unsure of sizing, go down a size or you may find the coat a tad too roomy.)
Second, here’s a fab contesting opportunity: Purchase ANY item from the Guillaume fashion line before 11:59pm on October 19th, and you’ll be automatically entered to win a $500 shopping spree of the Guillaume collection!
Third, let’s all offer a HUGE congratulations to Guillaume – he is celebrating his 10th anniversary at The Shopping Channel! Montreal-native Guillaume studied fashion design at LaSalle College before perfecting his skills as a member of the prestigious Chanel and Christian Dior fashion houses in Paris and New York. (Um, Chanel? Hello!) In 1996 Poupart became creative Director of Ben Kahn in New York and worked with star designer John Galliano during his 5 year tenure.
While based out of New York, Guillaume admits that he loves returning to his homeland. And we’re always so excited to have him back! I had a chance to interview him this week –
L: How do Canadian women provide inspiration and relevance to your collections for TSC?
G: Based on their geographic location and European origins, Canadian women continuously provide me with inspiration with their perfect blend of North American pragmatism and European flair. This perfect blend allows me to create fashion forward pieces with a couture touch that are within the parameters of a modern woman’s daily life.
L: Congratulations on 10 years with The Shopping Channel! Thinking about your past collections with TSC, is there a single look or fashion that you love to bring back year after year?
G: I always bring back a fabulous blazer. I believe a well-cut blazer is any woman’s best friend. For many years it was known as a man’s jacket, but having a beautifully-tailored and structured piece gives any woman a boost of confidence and enhances her shape. Also, the way I cut and embellish my blazers gives the piece a very feminine look. The blazer is that one item a woman can wear with everything in her closet – it’s her completer piece, her go-to piece, and the one piece she keeps reaching for over and over again.

L: What are three key pieces that every woman should have in their wardrobe for Fall/Winter?
G: First, every Canadian woman must have a fabulous winter coat. I love a winter coat that has a glamorous look, but can also be dressed up or down and worn in the daytime. I designed my Today’s Showstopper Winter Glamour coat around one key detail – practicality. The coat is reversible with a hood that will keep every woman warm, and a faux fur trim that still gives it a luxurious look.
Second, leather leggings are the new jeans. They can be worn with longer tunics, blazers, and sweaters, and really look great with anything. They are the perfect bottom to wear with winter boots while giving women a slimmer look.
Third, every woman needs a fantasy piece. A fantasy piece is something that will make a woman feel good about herself. It’s something she may not wear every day, but it still makes her excited when she sees it. I designed a lace peplum top coming up in my December collection that is very upscale, glamorous and chic, but it can also be mixed with more casual items. It can be worn with jeans and a jacket for a day out, or it can be paired with the matching lace skirt for the perfect holiday outfit.
Thanks Guillaume! Hope I’ve inspired y’all to start thinking about your fall and winter wardrobe – and don’t forget to visit The Shopping Channel today!
I am not a fan of faux fur coats, they add too much bulk which I do not need
I can understand that. Although this coat is quite tapered, it is bulkier than the average winter coat.
Great looking coat, but I tend to stay away from faux fur; not for any particular reason; they just aren’t for me.
I didn’t think I was a faux fur person either, but I do love this coat :)
For those of us out West, we need the bulk and warmth so this faux fur may be perfect! Thanks for the sizing info too, always hard to know when ordering online or via TV! :)
No problem! Happy shopping!
I would wear it faux fur in – a lot warmer that way. I had a jacket that was reversible like this years ago and loved its warmth – wasn’t able to find another one until now. Just hope they don’t sell out too fast :o)
It IS a lot warmer with the fur in, but not nearly as fabulous, LOL
Nice jacket, I don’t wear the faux fur but know of others that do so I will let them know about this. It is a good deal.
Thanks Judy!
I like the coat a lot! I think the brown is the nicest although the plum is pretty great too.
Yup, my preference is the chocolate hands down.
I like it! Looks really cozy.
It is Lisa, thanks!
Looks super cozy, love the brown.
Thanks Angie!
I must admit I have never been a fan of faux fur coats.
No? Me neither, until this coat!
The coat looks great and I love the rich, brown faux fur colour.
Thanks Marissa!
Beautiful coat! Perfect for east coast weather, which I am dreading! lol
Ah, I think we’re all dreading winter!
Kept reading – leather leggings ? Leather (other than a jacket or) and me don’t mix – so I guess I can cross those off my “fashion” list. I was never really one to follow the trends anyway ;o)
I don’t think I’m a leather leggings kind of girl either :)
I would love to have it for the winter. I bet it is real warm.
It’s VERY toasty :)
I love that coat, although it’s not my style. I’m glad you like it!
Thanks Victoria!
wow looks really comfy. would love to wear this in the winter.
It’s super comfy and super warm!
I am sure this would be beautiful with your slim figure, but it would totally make my butt look so much bigger
