WHAT did I do before I discovered Dempster’s Tortillas?
Oh, right. I *may* have…
– sorted through takeout menus for a dial-a-dinner
– rummaged through the freezer for an edible ice product
– climbed a kitchen chair to peruse the top shelf of the pantry
– jumped in my car hell-bent for the nearest drive-thru
– all of the above
The thing is, weeknight dinners are inevitable. There’s just an unwritten rule that you have to feed your kids every night. (Edit: I just discovered it’s not an unwritten rule – it’s the law. Huh.) Also inevitable? Those nights when you know you should eat leftovers, but dammit, you just don’t want to. And the second your will starts to waver, you begin your path to the dark side… which often ends with, “Would you like fries with that?”
That’s why I’m helplessly addicted to Dempster’s Tortillas. Simply put, they make EVERYTHING taste delicious. Leftover curried chicken – wrap it up. Miscellaneous cold cuts – wrap it up. Mom’s meatloaf – wrap it up. Chickpea salad… trust me, you can wrap it up. The options for weeknight dinners are endless! And often, with a little inspiration and a few staple ingredients, I can create a quick, simple dinner that my family will love.
Breaking News! A little bird told me that the NEW Dempster’s Tortillas have a Fresh Taste Guarantee! (Okay, it wasn’t a little bird. You can clearly see it marked on the package above.) Nevertheless, to celebrate their awesomely delicious products, Dempster’s is holding a “Wrap & Win” sweepstakes, where you can play for your chance to win $5,000 – plus $1,000 in instant win prizes!
Of course, the purpose of this post is to solve your weeknight dinner dilemma. And I’m here to say, if you have the following products on hand, forever a dinner-making jedi you will be:
Clockwise, from top left: 1. Romaine lettuce, shredded; 2. Your Favourite Dempster’s Tortillas; 3. Jalapeno Harvarti Cheese; 4. Your Favourite Spicy Hummus; 5. Maple Leaf Prime Naturally Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips.
The rest is pretty much foolproof. Simply spread out a generous dollop of spicy hummus on the tortilla. Then, top with grated Jalapeno Havarti. Layer about 5-6 chicken strips down the center of the tortilla; sprinkle with freshly ground pepper. Place under a toaster oven broiler for 5 minutes or until cheese has melted and chicken is warmed through. Top with shredded lettuce. Et voila! The solution to your weeknight dinner dilemma. Just Wrap it Up!

Me too! I want a Taco Bowl maker, LOL!
I love wraps, especially chicken with the works and hot sauce, but I can not get them wrapped very well food always falls out.
You should try folding up the bottom, like a diaper, Chandra! It keeps all the fixin’s inside :)
Im getting much better at the wrapping since I have been eating them every lunch for a week. lol so good
Wraps are a great way to clear out the fridge! Any protein, random greens and a variety of condiments make a tasty meal.
Absolutely! Long live the wrap!
One of my fave things to eat is a tuna wrap!
Mmm.. haven’t had a tuna wrap in a long time. Thanks for the inspiration!
I agree with Heidi^! I literally just had tuna salad today – it would have been great if I had some of these tortillas on hand! Wraps are also so great for on the go (like when I’m running out the door and need an easy breakfast that is easy to eat and will keep me full – a simple granola bar just doesn’t cut it sometimes!)
Agreed! Breakfast wraps are so yummy – and so portable!
I made this wrap for lunch yesterday and it was sooooooooo good!
Yummy! Thanks for giving it a try!
I wrap just about everything. I love them
Me too!
They are a fabulous alternative to bread or buns – I get way too “stuffed” (although I might add that I absolutely have fallen head over heels for the Dempster’s Veggie bread) !
Mmmm… I’m addicted to it too Flora!
We love a good breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, mushrooms and maybe some fried tomatoes!
YUM! You’ve made me sooo hungry – and I think I have all those ingredients in my fridge!
I did try the tortillas and they are so good. I am doing a giveaway on my blog so my readers can try it also.
Amazing! I will definitely check it out!
I love these — they are so handy to make breakfast wraps to go, or a quick quesadilla.
Indeed! I’ve been enjoying wraps almost every day for lunch for the past week!
You can make great dessert with them too! We cut them in half, fill them with some sweetened cream cheese, a little bit of jam brush them with a egg whites, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake.
OMG Judy that sounds SO GOOD! I will definitely try it – thanks for sharing!
you also can brush with a little water cute up into pie shapes and add cinnamon and sugar bake for a little bit and a dessert

Love to make pizza Roll ups. A bit of sauce, cheese, turkey pepperoni and roll up. Drize with EVOO and Italian seasoning. Bake at 350 until golden.
Mmmm.. that sounds delicious Elizabeth, I’ll have to try it!!
We love wrapping it up in our house. Some how I just find the boys enjoy it so much and almost anything tastes good this way.

Ours too! Had a wrap for lunch today!
I’s taken me a little while, had some at restaurants, can’t say I cared for wraps. But started making my own at home, and I’m hooked! THanks for sharing!
Awesome! Homemade are the best kind.
We’ve often done this. So quick and easy, not to mention TASTY, on busy weeknights.
Absolutely!
I love my wraps, you can put anything in them that you want, and after I fill and wrap I even put them in my George Foreman grill…mmmmmm
Mmmm.. what a great idea Lynda!
love wraps
I love doing wraps and I use a bunch of different stuff like BBQ chicken or ground beef tacos or any other meat that I can think of. I also use a multitude of toppings like sweet peppers, grated carrots, lettuce, mushrooms, cucumber sticks, cole slaw etc. The opportunities are endless with wraps.
