Picture it: You’re scrolling through your Facebook news feed, and someone posts an update that includes an infographic. It may be funny; it may be inspirational, it may be downright timely due to current events. And when you see it, it speaks to you… and you must.click.LIKE.
That’s me. That’s usually how it goes. And that’s why I was in trouble while I shopped online at Chapters Indigo yesterday. You see – I’m a huge fan of inspirational quotes, and any time I find one of my favourite sayings emblazoned across a decor item, I simply must have it. Hence, I was in full-on shopaholic mode as I was confronted with an abundance of intellectual artistry. Here are some of my favourite pieces:
Designed in-house and exclusive to Indigo, their new mugs are generously sized with a comfortable handle to make them an instant favourite. Love the whimsical sayings – an especially pleasant way to greet a new day.
The mugs retail for $10.00 each, which is fabulous for gift giving, especially when stuffed with gourmet candy! In addition to Good Morning Beautiful, there’s Good Morning Handsome – and I think the pair makes a perfect housewarming gift for a newly married couple. Now who’s getting married?? I need to gift this!
I also adore the decorative pillows – not so much for the colours or prints, but for one very heartfelt saying that I now have tattooed on my brain: “Collect Moments, Not Things”.
They’re a *teeny* bit more expensive than I’d like to see at $39.50. However, I am very patient in my shoppertunistic ways and have no problem waiting for them to go on sale. Often, Chapters releases coupons for 25% off one item. Looks like I’ll have to build my inspirational pillow collection one item at a time!
Finally, these prints are on sale right now – 50% off – which means that I’ve already purchased one, of course. And I can’t wait for it to arrive! Yes, “Good Things Come to Those Who Hustle” will forever have a place on my office desk. Because it’s all about the hustle. It’s all about getting off your a** and making things happen. It’s all about working hard. I LOVE it.
Do you own a home decor item that speaks to you with your favourite quote?
I do like those Indigo mugs, especially the “Good Morning Beautiful” one. That’s a great way to start the day. The only home decor quote I have is on a plaque that reads: Enjoy The Little Things in Life for Someday You Will Realize They Are The Big Things.
HaHa, after I wrote my comment, I noticed the same saying on the pillow. That’s what happens when I read through so fast the first time.
Hahaha well it’s a terrific quote! I fell in love with the pillows – I love anything with inspirational affirmation, really.
I love the quotes as well – it’s funny how they can just SPEAK to you at certain times.. I own one piece of decor (handmade by my lovely sis) with a quote on it: You can wait forever for the perfect conditions, or you can make the best of what you’ve got now… – a quote from the late Jack Layton.. It was given to me at a particularly difficult time in my life & I often look at it and remember to just seize the day!
Oh, I love that Soozle! Sounds perfectly right to me. I’m so happy it was able to speak to you when you needed it.
A girlfriend gave me a little pillow with a saying. I keep it in the bedroom on my husbands side of the bed! “If you meet Mr. Right, make sure his first name isn’t ‘Always’!”
LOL LOVE IT! I actually married a Mr. Right, but his first name is “Rarely” ;)
We have a couple picture frames with quotes about family on them. Love those mugs and you are right they would make a great wedding present!
I agree. Such a lovely sentiment to start off your day!
I love a little positive affirmation in the morning and all through the day! These are really beautiful products!
I agree Anne! And yes, they’re gorgeous!
I love all of these especially the “Good morning beautiful mug” <3
You have exquisite taste! :)
I don’t yet own anything with my fave quote on it, but was thinking of quotes the other day to frame for our walls.
Oh, there are so many awesome ones to choose from… have fun decorating!
I’m not a shopaholic but I am a mug lover I love mugs. I get one every year from both my girls and I love themmmm.
Oh, another mug lover! I have a hard time not collecting them….
I, too, like having these cool visual “reminder” items around!
So true. I have my favourite saying emblazoned across the top of my computer: “Fear = Absence of Faith.”
These are all so cute! I LOVE Chapters! I especially love the “Good Morning Beautiful/Handsome” mugs – adorable
They really are! AND – I just thought of the perfect person to gift these to – woot!
I ordered the “Good Morning Beautiful/Handsome” mugs for a Christmas basket I am going to do up for friends….going to make it a couples basket :) Thanks for posting about these and giving me the idea!!
You’re so welcome Judy, and I’m happy to hear that they’re the perfect fit for a basket you’re creating!
The mugs are a cute idea for stocking stuffers
They really are! They also have letter initial mugs which are great for everyone.
I have a little plaque hanging by my front door (it was a gift from a friend) – it is the shape of a paw print and says “The more I know about men, the more I like cats” LOL ! I don’t really have a lot of “sayings” items – a coaster that says “You are not old until people start treating you with respect” and a small wooden carved “sign” I have on my kitchen windowsill that says “Family”.
I guess I am more of a t-shirt sayings person – I have a LOT of them !! LOL
LOL I love that you are a t-shirt sayings person! And I do love the “The more I know about men, the more I like cats” quote – too funny!
I love the “collect moments, not things”. My friend has a decal with a snippet from “A road less traveled” on her wall in her house, and I love it.
Oh… I love that too!
I had to write down “collect moments, not things” – I’m going to use it in a photo book I’m working on! It came at the perfect time. Also love the ‘hustle’ one.
Splendid – it’s such a poignant saying, I’m glad you can incorporate it into something memorable.
Am totally on the hunt for those Paris mugs from Indigo! Second time I’ve seen them and loving!
Awesome! Happy to fuel the desire to purchase!
I have a fridge magnet that says, “Good clothes open all doors ~ Thomas Fuller”
A vain comment, yes, but I think it’s kinda true. And when I was in the corporate work force, it used to give me an excuse – albeit a flimsy one – to shop! ;)
Oh LORD I LOVE IT! And you know what? It’s not vain at all – it’s completely true. My husband always says this – who knew it was a Thomas Fuller quote!
Quotes are amazing! I love browsing pinterest for inspiring quotes but I don’t have any decor that has quotes on them! I definitely would love to decorate the house with some meaningful quotes. They always look chic and lovely but they serve as great reminders as well!
Pinterest is like the holy grail of inspiring quotes, LOL!
I do!!! I own a desk clock, where the numbers are all jumbled at the bottom of the clock and it says: “WHATEVER” Love this clock – got it as a gift from my Sister from Avon, she says I am never on time for anything and it never seems to bother me – so she thought it was perfect – I totally agree :)
LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing Chantelle!
