Who’s Afraid of a Few Stains? Not Us!

August 27, 2013 By Lena

The first rule of the Clorox2 Stain Party is you do not talk about the Clorox2 Stain Party. KIDDING!

Not only do you talk about it – you publish funny little photos like this. Sorry, @ShopwithRobin!

If there’s one thing I always aspire to do, it’s to put my money where my mouth is. You see, it’s not enough for me to simply stand behind a product; I have to ensure that my readers, friends and even skeptics are convinced of the virtues and benefits of the brands I endorse. Now y’all know that I am the Clorox2 Stain Master Mom… but did you know that I am so impressed by the product, I hosted my very own Stain Party – just to demo how awesome it is?

It’s true. I invited a few of my dearest social media friends (ones that live within 20 km of my house, to be precise) to come and enjoy a night of drinks on the patio. At first, I had fairly grand designs for the menu, but in the end, decided to keep it sweet and simple. After all, the purpose of the evening was simply to enjoy each other’s company, and you know, do my guests’ laundry at the end of the party. Just the normal stuff you do at a summer outing, right? Right.

To start, I put out a fruit bowl with some m-e-s-s-y chocolate sauce for dipping. (As you can see above, Robin was one of the casualties.) Next, I decided that veggies and dip were a natural finger food, and finally, my pièce-de-résistance: grilled nachos with homemade chili sauce. Sooo good and sooo messy.

Of course, we dabbled in a little red and white wine too (surprisingly, the white was the popular choice). And as we all spread out to enjoy ourselves, I had just one instruction for my guests:

“Settle in and make yourselves at home. And for just two hours, don’t act your age. Live life without worrying about being proper, or being ladylike. Don’t stress about the little things, and hey! Stains happen. Dig in and get dirty! We’ve got the power of Clorox2, and I promise that the products are specially formulated to lift stains and contain brighteners to give colours a boost.”

And so the conversation started flowing, as did the wine. And before we knew it, we were roaring with laughter, just being silly, just being ourselves. And all throughout, I had my camera ready to catch those moments when life got a little messy. Robin was our first victim (ah, chocolate sauce on a bright orange top – could there be a worse fate?) but shortly thereafter, Diana (@TeacherMomofTwo) got a little clumsy with the ranch dip. Oops!

Next, Sara (@InfoSara) became a little too enthusiastic when recounting a recent story, and whoops! Chili all over her top. I don’t know about you, but I loathe tomato sauce stains!

Now if there’s one thing I’d love to draw your attention to, it’s the fact that all my guests were wearing bright colours. Yup, no drab party-goers chez Lena. And it’s all good –

Clorox2 Stain Fighter and Colour Booster Liquid is specifically formulated to work on tough stains and keep your clothes bright. The liquid works hard to lift stains and contains brighteners to give colours a boost. It is designed to be safe for all loads – so you can add it to every load with your detergent for cleaner and brighter clothes.

However, I’ll let you in on a little secret: for best results, use this product to pre-treat and fight tough stains. Apply Clorox2 Stain Fighter and Colour Booster Liquid directly to stain as soon as possible; rub in gently and wait 5-10 minutes – but do not allow product to dry on fabric. Wash immediately using your favourite laundry detergent.

Hence – you guessed it – I whisked away the ladies’ tops and pre-treated those nasty stains before they had a chance to settle in. (Thankfully, all the guests dutifully brought a change of clothes!)

So what happened next? Well, you can pretty much see the Stain Fighter working right in front of your eyes. Tune in next week to see the before/after photos. In the meantime, the following lucky readers will receive the complete line of Clorox2 to rate and review!

Congratulations…
Ivy Pluchinsky, Karine, Victoria, Susanne G., Cathy C, Judy C, Holly, D H, Soozle and Cheryl P.!

An e-mail has been sent to all the reviewers. I’ll be back to demo the results next week! In the meantime, hugs and kisses to my Stain Party attendees – thanks for being such great sports, and party on!

This post left me with a silly grin on my face the whole time reading it! You ladies looked like you had fun, and yep, pretty much like me whenever I get together with friends. I avoid white for this reason…maybe it’s time to reconsider? ;)

Thanks, how does it work on a stain that is quite a few hours old, like 12 or so??

    • Lena

      August 31, 2013 at 8:25 am

It will STILL work, it just may not work as well as when you first treat them. But, I’ve removed stains that were days old, so definitely still worth a try!
