Last month, I offered twenty (20) lucky readers the awesome opportunity to try out the NEW Lean Cuisine Fresh Inspirations.
Did you catch my review? Because I pretty much adore the frozen entrees. In fact, since first trying them out, they’ve become a staple in our home. And why not? When was the last time your frozen entree looked like this?
Pictured above is the Mediterranean Chicken entree; a fibre-filled meal with delicious broccoli, carrots and red bell peppers, served with savoury chicken and penne pasta in a tomato sauce. I wish you could reach through your computer screen and feel the penne, because it’s perfectly al dente. Of course, I’d then convince you to pierce a morsel of the tender, juicy chicken – and taste how fresh and crisp the broccoli and peppers are. And rubber carrots? NEVER! Nothing but Fresh Inspirations here.
Of course, your Mediterranean Chicken entree may look completely different from mine, and that’s okay too: the beauty of Fresh Inspirations is the ability to customize your meal just the way you like it. Want your protein on the side? Sauce drizzled on top? Or maybe you like to simply toss everything together. You can prepare each dish in the way that inspires you.
And this just in… I’m not alone in my adoration of these perfectly portioned, healthy meals: YES, my readers were inspired by Lean Cuisine Fresh Inspirations! Here’s just a sample of what they had to say about the four (4) most popular varieties:
“The decision to drizzle, dip or eat separately was easy for me… I’m a drizzler at heart so that is what I did, and I was definitely not disappointed with this dish. The teriyaki sauce was sweet and full of flavour. The chicken was meaty and delicious and the brown rice was the perfect texture, with a slight bite left and not mushy at all. But the sugar snap peas won my heart over; they were perfectly cooked, vibrant in appearance and delicious, just like the broccoli, carrots and peppers.” – Jennifer
“I was pleasantly surprised that it was so tasty – and even more so, by the quality of the chicken, which did not feel “processed”. I was also pleased by the generous portion of vegetables provided, and by the fact the rice was brown, and therefore, healthier. It was certainly a very convenient meal – prepared in the microwave in just minutes – which is very handy when you’re running after two children.” – Janice
“I really liked the sauce because it was both sweet and hot because of the chilies. The rice and veggies were perfect. It was nice to have a beef option in the entrees to choose from. The beef was perfectly done too because it was thinly sliced and cooked well.” – Laura
“My favourite is the Chili Lime Beef. I really thought there would have been a spicy kick to it which would have taken it up a notch. The beef was tender and nicely flavoured with the sauce, the vegetables not soggy which I loved.” – Tricha
“I was very impressed at how fresh and crisp the vegetables were, not soggy at all and the sauces tasted real (not chemical-like) and flavourful. I honestly forgot it was lighter meal; then I looked at the back of the boxes and realized almost all 6 meals were under 250 calories…hello! I also liked the portion sizes and because of the perfect amount of carbs, veggies and protein mix in each dish so I was full for a while and felt good about the food I just ate. I will definitely be loading my freezer up with these fresh meals!” – Marcy
“This one was my favourite. I love pasta with tomato sauce so that is probably why. The veggies in it were the perfect assortment as well. I’d definitely buy this one and recommend it to my friends!” – Caila
“I have to admit that I was not too excited to try this dish; it seemed like the least appealing of all 6 of the Fresh Inspiration dishes that I was going to be trying. Once I removed the dish from the microwave, after 3 minutes of cooking to stir the meat and sauce portion, I started to change my mind. The smell of the creamy garlic sauce was mouth-watering! After what seemed like a very long 2 minutes of “steam time” I was ready to remove the film on top and make the big decision of whether I would drizzle the sauce over the veggies, eat the sauce and meat separate or dip. I totally drizzled!
I first noticed the appearance of the red skinned potatoes, zucchini and broccoli, bright, non-mushy veggies that looked like they were prepped right in my kitchen. I was ready to taste, the chicken was the first thing I tried and I was won over immediately! Meaty chunks of real white chicken, not some spongy formed version of my favorite white meat. The garlic sauce complemented all of the flavours and the texture of the perfectly steamed veggies was spot on. This meal was absolutely restaurant quality and delicious!” – Jennifer
(Lean Cuisine Fresh Inspirations are also available in Thai Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo.)
