There are certain things that parents just do for their kids.
Take them to 6:00am hockey practice.
Cut their grapes in half until they start to complain about it.
Wipe bums. Enough said.
Also? Going about your daily life with Toopy and Binoo blaring in the background. I can’t quite understand the fascination, but both my boys ADORE the little team of rat and cat. Seriously! It’s their favourite TV show ever. However, if you’re in the vast minority of parents who have never heard of Toopy and Binoo, here’s a Coles Notes version of the television show:
“The series centers on an anthropomorphic rat named Toopy and his best friend, a silent plush cat named Binoo. Each episode follows their playful, nonsensical adventures created out of their imaginations. In each episode there are “Fabulous You” segments, featuring Toopy and Binoo as superheroes who help their friends when they have nothing to play with. The segments encourage viewing children (referred to in the show as “Fabulous You”) to participate in the adventures and use their imaginations. – Source
Ahem, well – watching Toopy and Binoo along with your little ones – and pretending to enjoy it – is the height of “doing things” for your kids. Of course, I’m going one step further… and taking one for the team, so to speak… as we have been extended the exciting opportunity to take the boys to see Toopy and Binoo and the Marshmallow Moon at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, a live theatrical production by Koba Entertainment.
Yes, the boys are going to FREAK OUT!
As much as I’m pretending to be the martyr here, the truth is, I know that the boys will simply light up with joy the second their favourite team takes the stage. And, I’ll enjoy every second of it.
Are your kids super fans of Toopy of Binoo too? Great news – due to popular demand, the Toopy and Binoo Tour has just added more shows across Ontario and Eastern Canada! Click here for a full schedule of dates and times.
Thinking of taking the kiddos? Here’s a snippet of what you’ll see at the show:
We can’t wait to tell the boys that they’ll have a chance to see their most beloved characters in real life. It’s going to be a blast! So tell me, will you be “taking one for the team” and taking your kids to see Toopy and Binoo?
I took my daughter last year and she absolutely loved it!! It’s not so bad…and there could be worse things to “take one for the team” for, like say Caillou! I pick Toopy and Binoo any day. Have fun…
Hahaha you are absolutely right Tania – Caillou would DEFINITELY be considered taking one for the team! Love it!
I wish they would come to Vancouver. My 3 year old would be in heaven!
They just may Olivia! Fingers crossed!
sure am! I was even on the mailing list to get a presale code. Kidlet is going to FAH-reak out. FREAK out.
have fun!
Hahaha LOVE IT Michelle! You’ll have to send us a picture!
I’m sure the kids will have a blast and be talking about this awesome show for a long time. Enjoy!
Thanks Marissa! I think my little guy especially will go nuts for Toopy and Binoo!
AHH! I had no idea Toopy and Binoo were on tour – my kids would love this! Just bought tickets for the Oshawa show, thanks for letting us know about it Lena!
You’re very welcome Carlee – enjoy!!
Oh man, I always joke when people ask me “did you watch so-and-so?” On tv, To which I always reply “if its not Toopy and Binoo, I don’t watch it!”. Our PVR is full of T&B episodes actually! I don’t mind them to be honest. I love their sense of imagination and it can be quite funny at times. In fact, David is learning most of his English from that show. He says things at the most appropriate times and I wonder where he ever learned it. Then when I watch T&B with him, I realize that’s where he gets it. Example, he was staring out the window one day and says “what a beauuutiful day!”. Lol, makes me laugh. You’ve convinced me to buy tickets…I’ve been on the fence hoping to avoid it, heehee!
Hahaha well happy to convince you to grab tickets… but happier for David who will be in seventh heaven! It will be a beauuutiful day indeed!
We are going now!! So happy I visited your blog this morning, we could have missed our chance. Funny thing? I shared your Facebook post with a friend who said she already bought tickets!! Gee friend, thanks for letting me know! So thanks Lena!!!
YAY! Happy to break the news for you… hope you have better seats than your friend, LOL!
My grandkids are super fans! Here’s hoping they make it to BC sooner than later so I can take them!
thanks
I sincerely hope so too Anne!
My sons gotten too old to enjoy this now but he loved the Tv show when he was younger. I gotta admit I didnt mind watching a few show with him then too!
Well I didn’t mind at first…. but with two boys two years apart, we’re going on 5 years of Toopy and Binoo now!! :)
Have fun!!!
Thanks Debbie!
We saw Toopy & Binoo and the Marshmallow Moon the last time they were at the Sony Centre and my girls LOVED it! It was there first live theatre event.
Thank you so much for the feedback! It’s going to be my boys’ first live theatre event too!
I will be taking my two year-old twin sons next month and I can’t wait to see their reaction! They LOVE Toopy and Binoo!
Yay! I’m so happy you’ll give them this awesome experience!
This is going to be epic for the kids! I’m actually looking forward to it
Hahaha I knew you would!! You’re just as much of a kid as they are :)
I look forward to hearing how it was!
You know I’ll post a review!
Wish this would have come when my kids were little :(
:( I felt the same way about a few Disney productions.
Thanks to Koba, I have the opportunity to take my son for the meet & greet and the show May 8th. Unfortunately, he broke his femur bone a week and a half ago and I hope that they will accommodate him.
