Give the Gift of Relaxation: Stillwater Spa

April 21, 2013 By Lena

Ah, Mother’s Day. When I was young, it was an opportunity to sum up a whole year’s worth of love and gratitude neatly packaged in the form of a homemade card or breakfast in bed. Often, the cards were messy and misspelled, and the breakfast was inedible… but it was the thought that counted. And now, as an adult (and a mom of two) I understand just how much mothers do – every minute, every day – to ensure that their children are blanketed with love, care and happiness. I realize that we celebrate our mothers once every 365 days… to acknowledge their lifetime of servitude.

Be nice to your mom.

Do one, really-really-really special thing for her this Mother’s Day: Make a promise to honour her more than once a year. To say thank you; to show gratitude, to give love.

Then, spoil her with chocolate. And flowers. And time to herself. And you simply must spoil her with a spa day. My recommendation? Stillwater Spa at the Park Hyatt Toronto.

You may remember that we recently visited the Park Hyatt for a staycation, where we enjoyed a large, family-friendly room, delicious in-room dining and a few special surprises that truly made us feel “celebrated”. At the end of the weekend, I felt rested, rejuvenated and ready to take on the world… with one *tiny* regret: that I didn’t make an appointment at the renowned Stillwater Spa.

Recognized among the best spas in Toronto, Stillwater Spa at Park Hyatt Toronto Yorkville is an indulgent escape from urban demands. The full-service downtown Toronto spa features 17 treatment rooms, a couple’s massage room, aqua therapy room, steam room, sauna and whirlpool, and tea lounge for relaxing before and after Stillwater Spa treatments. Stillwater Spa uses innovative, trendsetting products to achieve well being and bestow tranquility.

And, they happen to share my vision of celebrating mothers for more than one day.

For the entire month of May, Stillwater Spa will be offering custom experiences that have been created to rejuvenate, de-stress and replenish the body. Mother’s Day-inspired packages include:

The Perfect Day: Essential Facial or Essential Swedish Massage, Essential Manicure and Essential Pedicure. $278| A $25 Spa Gift Certificate for you

C’est La Vie: Be whisked away to an exotic destination with the Bora Bora Body Experience and Pearl Perfection Facial. $665| A $75 Spa Gift Certificate for you

Lavish Me: For a rich indulgence experience the Vital Awakening Facial and European Milk & Honey Wrap. The blend of both treatments will leave your skin silky smooth. When you book this package during the month of May, take a little spa-at-home gift… A Waffle Robe with Stillwater’s compliments. $525

Baby & Me: The Mom-To-Be Massages can be traditional or experienced in water. This relaxation massage helps to alleviate any discomfort due to the changes the body is experiencing. $145

Bestie & Me: Spend quality time with your favourite girl(s) doing some of your favourite things… together. Enjoy side-by-side treatments including Massages, Manicures and Pedicures or customize your spa escape. (Price varies)

This year, treat your mother – and yourself – to some much needed rest and relaxation. Stillwater Spa is the only place you can experience the majesty of Bora Bora… from the heart of Downtown Toronto.

Long weekend upon us – finished 11 hours of yardwork yesterday, my back and neck want to disown me. Wouldn’t I love to be enjoying the Stillwater Spa at the Park Hyatt. My mother use to say a “Woman’s job is never done”, never truly believed or appreciated it until now. A Spa gift to any woman mother/aunt/friend/sister is the be all end all.
