Oh So Pretty in P!NK…

March 20, 2013 By Lena

Attention Canadians: Spring Has Sprung! (Well, technically. We all know that the weather outside is frightful.)

Nevertheless, it’s the perfect time to dust off those pretty pink polishes that are synonymous with the (soon-to-be) warmer weather. And who better to inspire thoughts of rose, blush and fuchsia than… P!NK!

The gorgeous CoverGirl combines pretty and punk for the most spectacular pinkage ever. Her edgy glamour and rock star confidence are ever present in her music, fashion and beauty. From cotton candy-tipped hair to romantic rose lips, P!NK embodies the spirit of the hue.

I’d like to think that it was P!NK who inspired the gorgeous girly shades in CoverGirl’s Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss. The high-shine, punchy full-coverage nail enamel combines a base coat, high gloss colour and a chip-resistant top coat in one simple step. Beauty junkies worldwide are raving about its long-wearing ability – up to seven (7) days! – with continued strength and shine.

And so to pay homage to my favourite rock star, I present to you my favourite shades of P!NK…

CoverGirl Outlast Nail Gloss in (L-R):
Always Naked, Perma Pink, Peaches & Cream, Pink-Finity, Perfect Penny, Smoky Taupe

CoverGirl Outlast Nail Gloss in (L-R):
Megawatt Mauve, Peek-a-Boo Pink, Everbloom, Reliable Red, Tickled Pink, Wine to Five

CoverGirl Outlast Nail Gloss in (L-R):
Coreal Silk, Coy Coral, My Papaya, Lasting Love, Forever Festive, Wine Stain

Can you pick a favourite? I’m partial to the bright pinks – I’ve always believed that life is fabulous in fuchsia.

can’t pick a favorite but can pick a favorite line… which would be sober.

Love those shades too! And I should say that “Sober” isn’t officially a line… just me paying homage to her songs and her P!NKAGE!

Love them all, but Lasting Love would be my pick. Great polishes Cover Girl!!

    I like Always Naked

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:46 am

For some reason I think of it as a “toe” colour but it is gorgeous!

Pretty colours! :) They are all so girly. Interestingly enough, I like the first half of each row better than the second half (if that makes sense!)

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:46 am

It makes perfect sense Nicole! That just means you like more muted, less intense shades!

I like Smoky Taupe but all the colours are pretty! I can’t wait until sandal weather!

      March 21, 2013 at 8:47 am

Ah, me too! Sick of this cold weather already!

I shouldn’t complain because you must still have snow but here it is rain and lots of it.

I especially love the Sober line! All the colours are so soft and romantic.

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:49 am

Yup, the top row has many of my faves. As I mentioned above, it was ME who named the “lines”… so please don’t go looking at the store for a special display, LOL!

I especially love Perma Pink. I am getting married this summer and it is a very bridal colour.

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:50 am

Congratulations Alexandra! I opted for a “bridal pink” too on my wedding day, shunning the more popular french manicure :)

Tickled Pink! Great colours! I’ve seen the nail polish in the store but didn’t know that they were so chip-resistent. I’ll have to give them a try, thanks Lena!

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:50 am

      Please do try them Jenny!

Clever that you combined the colours with Pink songs :) I love all the shades in Can’t Take Me Home, and I love the song even more!

The Truth about Love has all gorgeous colours but Forever Festive is my favourite!

    • Lena

      March 21, 2013 at 8:51 am

Sounds about right – it’s got more of a wine/cherry influence, and you’ve got cherries in your picture!

Wine to Five is a daring, bold colour; which is how I imagine Pink to be! I love her, her music, her honesty and the way she lives her life!

    thanks

    • Lena

      Perfectly said, Anne!

Oh! I just LOVE the pink colors in general, but the bright ones scream summer for me! I am pretty sure I own 10 bottles too many hah.

I was inspired by this post that last Friday I made a Monday appointement to change up my hairstyle that has been the same since 2004, it’s quite a bit shorter and I am now sporting high lights

    • Lena

      March 26, 2013 at 8:15 am

That’s amazing, Debbie, I’m so proud of you! I’m sure you look like a rock star :)

Me too. Although I prefer brighter colours on my toes, I’m all about neutral for my fingertips.

Im partial to Peek-a-Boo Pink. I have shorter nails so the really vivid or very dark ones never seem to look that nice on me.

    • Lena

      April 7, 2013 at 12:11 pm

      As a serial nail-biter I totally get that :)
