Confession: I’ve always kind of adored Emma Stone. (And her current boyfriend, but that’s another blog post.)
In fact, when she first burst onto the scene in the teen comedy Superbad, I tidily predicted that her days as a supporting actress in an ensemble piece were numbered – confident that her charm, wit and polished girl-next-door looks would elevate her to superstar status in no time.
And now, a mere six years later and after a string of box office hits including Crazy, Stupid, Love., The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man, she’s happily adorning the red carpet with Ryan Gosling (I just fainted) in their upcoming crime film Gangster Squad.
And if there’s one thing I love about Emma Stone most, it’s her red carpet moments. What a treat for the eyes! Always elegant, always beautifully done. She is the epitome of “fun fashion” – taking risks at appropriate times and in appropriate places.
This past Monday night she arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of Gangster Squad looking absolutely flawless in a crimson Lanvin dress.
While I loved her fashion choice, I was particularly smitten with her beauty ensemble. Perfectly defined eyes – on trend in smoky shades of emerald green; subtly bronzed cheeks and the palest of crimson lip stains. And, she resisted the temptation to play matchy-matchy with her fingernails, instead opting for au naturel tips. It is red carpet perfection.
I spent the better part of Tuesday morning trying to dissect her look – which eye shadow? What lipstick? Thankfully, US Magazine picked up on her “Flawless Look” and published everything you need to recreate it:
“I wanted to create a very glamorous look inspired by (her red dress),” said her makeup artist Rachel Goodwin. “I played with jewel tones on the eyes and lips and kept the skin looking dewy for a modern twist.”

Do you have a female celebrity crush? Who is it, and why?
although i don’t like her blond (the red is so much sassier) she is amazing! not afraid to laugh at herself, not too over the top.
i love natalie portman personally. she seems classy and she’s absolutely beautiful.
I’ve always loved Natalie Portman too. She just has such a classic beauty about her…
I really like Gwyneth Paltrow
I used to like GP until she started publishing her GOOP newsletters. Then, she just became too insufferable for my liking.
She is very pretty and a great actress. No crush but I do like Charlize Theron’s movies, I think she’s a great actress as well.
I love Charlize! And I love that she takes daring roles that showcase her talent, not just her beauty!
Love her! Though I agree with Angie and prefer her as a redhead. My crush is Megan Fox, don’t think I need to explain why!
Ha, nope – no need to explain!
She is great! I loved her in The Help. No celeb crush for me.
She was awesome in The Help, agreed!
Katy Perry! She’s all over my vanity board (my version of a vision board)
Oooh, Katy is gorgeous! I’ve always loved the combination of blue eyes and black hair – although we never know what colour Katy’s hair will be :)
beautiful eyes! but i love victoria beckham!
Oooh, Posh! Haven’t thought about her in a while!
I agree, the blonde hair does not suit her as much, it washes her out. but very pretty girl!!!
She definitely needs to return to her fiery red roots…
I did not see Emma Stone in Superbad; I first saw her in Easy A. I loved her character and knew once I had seen her in this movie that she would be a star and a good one at that. She is always so well put together and so classy.
Agreed! I actually haven’t seen Easy A – I’ll put it on my list of movies to watch!
Emma Stone is awesome! I loved her in Easy A and Crazy, Stupid, Love (AND RYAN, of course!!)
My other girl celeb crushes are Rachel McAdams, Zooey Deschanel, and Natalie Portman!
I actually only remember one scene from Crazy, Stupid, Love and that was Ryan Gosling taking his shirt off :) Love your other celeb crushes!
I loved Emma in The Help. It was a really good movie and she’s a wonderful actress. I like Sandra Bullock because of her strong personality and the chick flick roles that she plays.
I love Sandra Bullock’s movies too – they’re great for a Sunday afternoon!
Piper Perabo!! she’s adorable.
She’s so cute! Loved her in Coyote Ugly, but then, so did everybody!
I think she’s hilarious!
She’s an awesome comedic actress!
She’s amazing, and she’s the luckiest girl in the world, getting to snuggle up to ryan repeatedly AND getting paid to do it.
All I have to say, friend, is 2:35. OMG. I think I almost went blind staring at his perfect chest.
Love her!! She is a great actress..I love her style of comedy and she has proved that she isn’t one dimensional and can do other styles of movies. I love her eyes and style..I don’t think I’ve seen her wear anything I did not like. Thumbs up for your pick of celebrity crush!
Thank you Mandy! Sounds like you and I are similar in many ways… including celebrity crushes, LOL! Love it!
Haha yes it does seem that way! My number one celebrity crush is still the same as when I was 15..Justin Timberlake :) lol I think I’ll always love him..and his dance moves :)
OMG my husband dances like Justin Timberlake, I think that’s what sealed the deal for me!! Ha!
Awesome! lol My boyfriend can’t dance..haha He tries though but he’s more just being silly. He has the same build as him and resembles him in a way so I tell him that’s why I’m attracted to him LOL He knows I’ve always loved Justin and he’s fine with that :) lol
I just saw a clip of her on Ellen recently! She is hilarious, and she can off any hair colour!
I agree Jenny! LOVE her!
oh Emma Stone, I thought she changed so much, I loved her when she first started out, really fresh and natural and that red hair (va va voom!) She is soo pretty! and now she’s an icon!
My celebrity crush would have to be Jennifer Love Hewitt, I am at AWE that she still looks the same wayy back when i was in high-school like 10 years ago lol!! i don’t have a recent one but I remember loving her very much, she is beautiful and her smile is gorgeous!
Now that I think about it, you’re right Miranda! JLH hasn’t changed at all – she’s always had that fresh faced, girl next door beauty.
She’s amazing and hilarious! She needs more leading roles.
Agreed, Michelle! Though I’m sure they’re on the way!
I really like Zooey Deschanel as well as Emma Stone, her show New Girl is hilarious
Oooh, I am completely envious of her gorgeous bangs :)
I do like Emma Stone but for someone closer to my own age I’d say Jennifer Aniston.
Jennifer Aniston is a great pick – though I’ve always been on Team Jolie, LOL!
I love her hair, makeup and outfit! 2 thumbs up for sure!
Glad you agree, Jillian!
I love Emma Stone — she’s always changing her style but looking amazing
Yup, I adore people who take beauty and fashion risks :)
I love chanel…make up and styles…I would love to be a chanel girl with a closet full of her clothes.
Um, you and me both Teresa! Hahaha!
I’ve always loved Drew Barrymore.
She’s very approachable. Like one of us if that makes any sense. I think she is beautiful and I love her wild child ways.
Funny, Tania – I saw your comment a few days ago, and then saw 50 First Dates on tv yesterday. I’d have to agree with you!
love emma stone!!
:) Happy you agree!
While Emma Stone would be in my top 5, my celebrity crush is Reese Witherspoon. The girl can do no wrong. She looks cute casual in sweat pants and dressed up on the red carpet. I also like how she looks so real, like a mom, although a really pretty one!
Ah YES – she is pretty spectacular!
Wow – it’s hard to get over those eyes! And you are right the whole ensemble is fabulous, I especially love her accessories.
She is perfection personified! LOVE.
LOVE LOVE LOVE her hair! I wish I could pull off bangs!
Gah! Me too!
Sophia Bush. She’s stunning.
Ooohhh. yes she is.
I like Zooey Deschanel, with her quirky personality and 80s mod fashion choices.
I love Emma Stone too! I also crush on Kate Winslet. :)
Both amazing actresses!
Debbie White Beattie
I love Emma Stone too because she turns herself into the characters she plays so well and I love how she’s able to do serious and comical roles. She also looks great in every hair colour!
