Picture it: There are 5 shopping days left until Christmas. And, you’ve got a few toddlers left on your shopping list. Now you could run to the stores and just pull toys off the shelf – or Google “Top Toys 2012” until you find a doable option. But in the end, chances are you’ll be no closer to making a decision on that perfect gift. Well, I’m here to help.
(Technically, my assistance here today is only relevant for those shopping for toddler boys. Because really, that’s all I know. But don’t fear! Simply head on over to the Fisher-Price Moms website, where you’ll find top picks for boys and girls of all ages from my fellow Play Ambassadors.)
So what do I recommend this Christmas? Easy peasy – let’s just revisit some of Ryder and Reid’s favourite Fisher-Price toys from 2012! (Clicking on the links below will take you to my full review – you’re welcome!)
Little People Wheelies Stand ’n Play Rampway – $45.00
Looking for a “wheelie” fun way to play with Little People Wheelies? On the Stand ’n Play Rampway, they zip and zoom up and down and all around! It’s over two feet tall, so the “wheelies” really zoom down each of the two spiral ramps. Plenty of lights and sounds as kids “drive” around, with a mechanic’s lift, a place to fill ’er up, a sign that spins when a car drives through and more!
Thomas the Train Sodor Search & Rescue Center – $25.00
Send your Engines on a Rescue Mission from the Sodar Search and Rescue Center. This set unfolds into a full loop of track that folds out from the roof of the rescue center where Flynn is willing and waiting to rush to the rescue. Comes with a Die Cast Flynn Engine.
Fisher-Price Bubble Mower – $20.00
One-touch refill system keeps bubbles blowin’ for a whole lotta mowin’! The all-new one-touch refill system features a bigger bubble dispenser for less fill-ups—and a one-press, no-mess refill. Just press it once and you’re good to go for a yard full of bubble fun! Bubble solution included.
Fisher-Price Signature Cadillac Escalade – $400.00
Loaded with luxury features! Real FM radio, see-through windows, chrome wheels and grill, doors that open and close, battery charge indicator, and more! 12-volts of battery power for two speeds forward (2.5 and 5 mph, max.) plus reverse on hard surfaces and grass with a high-speed lock-out for beginners and Power Lock Brake System.
Fisher-Price Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle – $50.00
Imagine … a world of action and excitement where you decide what happens next! This time, it’s a world of Medieval adventure, with a Castle that recognizes and responds to different accessories. Turn figure on different disks to activate defense mode. Talons lock the gate, shutters barricade the windows and the eagle’s head is revealed & ready to fire at the enemy!
All of the toys featured above are loved by my boys! They’ve received much play time and have stood up to many (many!) hours of toddler abuse. In fact, after the Great Toy Purge of 2012, these were a few of the only toys that made the cut.
However, if they had to narrow it down to just one toy that is their absolute favourite, they both agreed – the Fisher-Price Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle takes the prize! And so, since the holidays are about giving – and giving back – I am pleased to announce that Fisher-Price will be donating an Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle to the Toy & Game Fund at The Hospital for Sick Children on my behalf. As most readers know, SickKids is a place that’s near and dear to my heart (Read: The Story of Ryder).
I’ve also been given the opportunity to gift a special toy of my choice to someone close to me – and I’ve selected one of Fisher-Price’s most iconic baby toys to gift to my girlfriend who is expecting. Now I’d love to let you know what it is – but then it wouldn’t be a surprise for her, would it? (Hi Ingie!)
With just a few days left until Christmas, wishing you all the best with your last-minute holiday shopping! And if you’ve got children on that list? Trust me – Fisher-Price has them covered.
I am a Fisher-Price Play Ambassador and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
Ah, here’s hoping the Fisher-Price Bubble mower leaves him with positive memories so he’ll be more inclined to mow the lawn in the future, heh. :D
LOL I love it J! Here’s hoping!
I have always love the FP brand name. When Sara was younger she had a FP Kitchen that was complete…even a pull-out table and cooking utensils. She also had FP Doll House and I remember buying the smaller sets that were sold seperately. I remember buying a Grandma…there had to be a Grandma although Sara called my Mum Nannie. All of the grandchildren call her that plus my Mum likes the sound of it better I think.
It’s funny – I called my grandmother “Nana” but my mom prefers “Grandma”. I don’t think I’ve ever asked her why she prefers that. Love that Sara grew up with FP.
One of my favourite toys as a child was the FP circus and they are still making great toys today.
LOVE that toy so much. Totally remember it!
wow this is such an adorable gift- any little boy would love this!
I think so too. It’s a great castle!
The escalade looks amazing!
The boys have much fun in it :)
My son would love the rescue centre and the rampway. He’s crazy for cars and trains!
We must get together for a play date in the coming year! The kiddos would have a blast :)
This is what i wanted to buy my son for Christmas, but somehow could not find it …i bought another one from the same brand, not sturdy at all!!! should have waited until i eventually found this one!
Oooh, the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle really is my fave – sorry to hear you had bad luck with another model!
Aww, my oldest boy’s name is Ryder too! :)
LOVE it!
I love that you reply to the comments! That shows you are thoughtful and sincerely care about your readers! :)
It’s my pleasure Mandy :) I love reader feedback; and when readers take the time to leave a comment for me, the least I can do is return the favour in kind. Have a great day!
Hey! I just seen this today and thought I’d share here with you. There were a bunch of recalls on Fisher Price toys..that car ramp is one of them. Only the ones that came with the green and purple cars..there were two reports of the wheels coming off. Mine luckily came with a red and black car so I should be fine. Here is the link to the list: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=10&e=recalls#products
Thanks Mandy – got it! Actually we too have the red and black so we’re okay :)
love the car. every time we go to toys r us my oldest jumps in those cars.we got him a lightning mcqueen ride on toy one year but he still loves those cars. my youngest son got a few fisher price 6m + toys for christmas. great toys.
So happy to hear that the kiddos love Fisher-Price Francine!
The castle is adorable, having 7 grandchildren I am always interested in new toys
Congratulations on having 7 grandkids Emilia! That’s so sweet!
Hello, Lena. The Little People Wheelies Stand ’n Play Rampway looks like it would be a lot of fun for kids. The toys they have for kids nowadays just blow my mind. They are incredible. I agree when I was younger the toys that held up the best and were played with most often when my siblings and I were younger were the Fisher Price toys. Thank you for the review, Lena.
