Playtex Diaper Genie Elite Sampling Opportunity

November 10, 2012 By Lena

*UPDATE: We’ve reached our quota on this sampling opportunity. Thank you to everyone who applied!*

Years ago, when I first registered for my baby shower, there was one item that topped EVERY baby registry list. Can you guess what it was? Sure you can. The Playtex Diaper Genie.

Of course, at the time I had no idea just how much I would depend on it – probably because I had no frame of reference for just how stinky diapers really were. They’re stinky. Really, really stinky. And it only gets worse.

Here’s our bad boy – it’s over four years old, and has served us well through two boys (and two sets of soiled diapers).

Funny thing? Just like cars, Diaper Genies have models. And even though we’ve used this item every single day for years without complaint, it’s actually outdated. Introducing the newest member to the Diaper Genie family – the Playtex Diaper Genie Elite. The Diaper Genie system, as always, has a double-locked pail design and multi-layer refill to seal in odour and germs. However, the Elite’s ergonomic system, along with foot pedal, means parents don’t need to bend down and allows for easy, hands-free handling.

(Full disclosure: The wording on Playtex’s website said “moms don’t need to bend down…” But the truth is, my husband has changed more than 80% of the diapers for the boys. Yes, he’s a proud daddy on diaper duty – just another reason I married well. So that ergonomic little pedal is actually even more appreciated by him, since he has farther down to reach than the average mom.)

Other updates? Well, as you can see below, it’s larger – which means that it fits more than 30 soiled diapers before you need to change the bag. And assembly is literally a snap; the pail snaps together in just one step. Also, no more looking for a scissor to cut the bag; the internal childproof cutter makes emptying the pail a breeze. Just cut, seal and the diapers are ready for disposal. To start a new bag, simply tie a knot and you’re ready for more diaper changes.

Playtex Diaper Genie Elite is the #1 selling diaper pail brand in protecting against unwanted germs and odours. It retails for $45.99 and can be found anywhere children’s products are sold. Also look for the Diaper Genie Portable Diaper Bag Dispenser; a convenient and discrete diaper disposal system. It allows you to avoid the unnecessary mess of dirty diapers while enjoying a fresh lavender scent wherever you go.

(Essential for traveling! Trust me – Reid had the runs for the first day of our cruise. Like, crazy explosive diaper runs. We absolutely could have used it then – OMG!)

SAMPLING OPPORTUNITY! – EDIT: Our quota has been reached! Thanks to all who applied!

I’m looking for twenty (20) Canadian readers who would love to test and review the Playtex Diaper Genie Elite diaper disposal system. We’ll mail the product right to your door, and you’ll have 2-3 weeks to give it a go. Then, simply send your review to me, and the Diaper Genie Elite is yours to keep! To thank you for your honest feedback, we’ll also enter you in a draw to win a $50 Babies r Us gift card. (Great odds – 1 out of 20!)

Thanks for participating – and wishing all the parents a mess-free, odour-free day!

Should I post the diaper Genie review here or should I email it to you? Thanks for the opportunity to try it out!
