Baby, It’s Cold Outside…

November 6, 2012 By Lena

… and the last thing you want to do is freeze your buns off. That’s why I’ve rounded up the Seven Warmest Coats – that just happen to be incredibly stylish, too. Fashion and function? Why not – Canadian winters call for down fill, puffy protection and the warmest wool blends… and feeling warm never looked so HOT.

Francesca Two Tone Wool Coat, GUESS
Why it’s Warm: 60% wool with faux fur comfort at the collar
Why it’s Hot: Trendy two-tone detailing cinches in the waist and slims the silhouette

Canada Goose Montebello Parka, SHOP.CA
Why it’s Warm: All Canada Goose blends include some Hutterite down, the most premium Canadian down available
Why it’s Hot: Available in one of winter’s most popular (and on-trend) hues, RED

Bridget Metallic Tweed Coat, Tory Burch
Why it’s Warm: Double lined with a hidden snap closure to keep cold air out
Why it’s Hot: Made of marled, metallic tweed, it has as a 3D-embellished collar and a pom-pom button at neckline

Quilted Feather Jacket, MANGO
Why it’s Warm: Made with 100% polyamide and 50% grey duck down, 50% grey duck feather
Why it’s Hot: Shiny effect fabric with a fitted cut, twin pockets on the front and trendy removable belt

Crinkle Lamb Leather Bomber, Danier
Why it’s Warm: Thinsulate insulation will keep you warm while the ribbed knit sleeve inserts add comfort
Why it’s Hot: Features a modern curved hem detail and a faux sheepskin hood that can be left open for added drama

Fur-trim Puffer Jacket, GAP
Why it’s Warm: Known for their “Warmest Jackets”, 100% polyester with plush down filling
Why it’s Hot: Tailored silhouette with a slim fit that hits perfectly at the upper thigh

Parkina Down Jacket, The North Face
Why it’s Warm: Constructed from a durable exterior and insulated with a lofty 600-fill down
Why it’s Hot: Modern quilting lines at exterior foster a feminine look, with a removable faux fur collar lining at hood

Stay warm, friends!

Man, I love jackets! My faves here are the Francesca Two Tone Wool Coat (GORGEOUS!), the Canada Goose Montebello Parka (looks sooo cozy!) and the Crinkle Lamb Leather Bomber (looks super sleek, although I’m not big on leather).

Thanks for the jacket-shopping/cold weather inspiration! :)

They’re huge in Europe but do have a few stores in left in Canada. You can always shop online, though!

That lamb coat is Auhmaazing. Yes, say it out loud. My sister had a lamb coat and it was my favourite coat. I’m going to see if I can find it in store and try it on. Living on the wild side.

Canada Goose may be warm, but what’s with the price? I could but two really WARM ones for that price, not impressed. My fave is the Mango jacket.

    • Lena

      December 1, 2012 at 11:05 am

It’s definitely priced higher than most coats, but they throw a heck of a lot of quality into it! Still, not for all budgets, that’s for sure :)
