Liv and Lily… LOVE.

July 3, 2012 By Lena

Since you know how much I simply adore telling stories, I’ll wait while you grab a coffee and a biscuit.

(Ready? Okay, here we go.)

Last year, I came across notable press and buzz for a brand new boutique: Liv and Lily. The designer specialized in children’s accessories, and word on the street was that the pieces were TO. DIE. FOR.

Hair clips with raw silk rosettes; satin flowers with sweet crystal detailing; stunning organza pieces with hand-sewn, sparkly centers. Then, headbands embellished with sparkling baubles. And, lovely hair ties fitted with Japanese fabric covered buttons.

At the time, while I was caught up in the whimsical accessories, they were also only available for little girls. And so I exited the website, making a mental note to pass it on to friends with daughters.

The company didn’t cross my radar again until late last year, when the owner, Melanie Pereira, contacted me to share the news of her NEW accessories for boys! At last she had my attention – now, instead of simply sighing over the stunning pieces for little girls, I could outfit my own little men in luxe, head-turning accessories.

And then, she offered a little tidbit that blew me away: Melanie shared her maiden name  – and I instantly recognized that we had actually attended high school together!

(Cue: It’s a Small World After All…)

Okay, so now I’m not even going to pretend that this is an impartial review, because I am RIDICULOUSLY proud of my former-Goetz Gator! Allow me to gush for a moment:

– Liv and Lily is a luxury brand of accessories that was created from Melanie’s experience as a Mom and love of fashion. Inspired by classic designs and style icons, her vision is a line that reflects a more time-honored approach to accessorizing your family.

– A celeb favourite! Liv and Lily was invited to showcase the collection at the 2012 Pre-Golden Globes and Pre-Oscar gifting suites in Los Angeles. (As a celebrity stalker, I am beyond impressed with this – and seriously thinking of hiding in Melanie’s suitcase next time around.)

– Conquering the fashion world: Liv & Lily was thrilled to be a part of Vogue Bambini’s show during New York Kid’s Fall & Winter Fashion Week. Work it girl!

So aside from the fact that I happen to adore Liv and Lily’s accomplishments – and gorgeous designs – I was also sent two chic fedoras to enjoy. I’ve been waiting the last couple of months to take professional family photos – but life keeps getting in the way, and I’ve not yet had a chance to have Ryder pose for a pro. So, yesterday I just cornered him and snapped a few pics, because I simply could not wait to share the awesomeness of Liv and Lily any longer.

GRAY WOOL FEDORA WITH BLACK BELT ($17.95)

I can’t say enough about the quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. The fedoras are sturdy with clean lines and luxe styling. Plus, since Ryder has a little pin-head like mommy, they’re guaranteed to fit for years to come! I have grand plans for him to wear his new accessories to EVERY event this summer and fall :)

Be sure to take a peek at Liv and Lily’s Limited Edition section for whimsical accessories that embody charm and elegance. ALL of the pieces are incredibly affordable and of course, designed and made in Canada!

Ryder is adorable! And Liv & Lilly accessories are just gorgeous! FYI, at the Gap that hat would cost $29.95 and it would be made in China and fall apart after a few wears.
