Bento Sushi: Lobster Sushi Festival

July 4, 2012 By Lena

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with Bento Sushi.

We indulge – on average – at least once per week (or once per grocery run), and it’s quite possibly the reason why our grocery bills are creeping a little higher each month.

(Don’t care. NOT willing to give up my Bento Sushi fix!)

Last week, my husband came home with what can only be described as the BEST maki roll I had EVER had. Seriously. Not an ounce of exaggeration here. Ladies and gents, I give you:

Lobster Volcano Sushi Roll

A cucumber, avocado and seaweed salad maki topped with succulent lobster, a generous sprinkle of tobiko and crispy onions and finished with a drizzle of spicy sauce.

First, there is actual lobster in the roll – not humble pollock masquerading as the real thing. And when I say lobster, I’m talking about chunks of sweet, tender meat that are in sharp contrast to the crispy onions and salty tobiko. Furthermore, the underlying flavour is punctuated by fresh seaweed – and is rounded out with the perfect amount of heat, courtesy of the pungent, spicy sauce.

In other words, if there was ever an apt description for “party in your mouth” – this would be it.

From Bento Sushi:

“For this Summer’s Limited Time Offer, we are reeling in the summer catch with our Lobster Sushi
Festival! Taking center stage is succulent Maritime lobster. Chef Daniel‐san has created three savory
items to capture the essence of summer‐loving.

Topped with tender lobster meat, a generous sprinkle of tobiko, crispy onions and finished with a drizzle
of spicy dressing, the Lobster Volcano Roll will definitely tantalize your palate. Flanked by the fresh
Alaska roll, BBQ salmon, classic salmon and shrimp nigiri, and lobster maki, it sure looks like we have a
winner this summer!

With our three savory lobster rolls only available for a limited time, the only question is ‐ Are you ready
to make the splash?”

Soon after my husband and I sampled our first Lobster Volcano Roll, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I contacted Bento Sushi for press information, and they obliged by sending us their three (3) Limited Time Offers for Summer 2012: The Lobster Volcano Sushi Roll, Lobster Maki Sushi Combo and Lobster Nigiri Sushi Combo.

The tobiko piled high on the chunk lobster meat above literally brings a tear to my eye, it’s so beautifully scrumptious.

This is likely the only maki roll I’ll be eating all summer – because the Lobster Sushi Festival runs for just a limited time. Run out and try some today – and let me know if you love it as much as I do!

I don’t like strong fish like salmon but I love Lobster, Shrimp and some other seafood, so this sushi festival would be great for me
