Bongiovi Pasta Sauce: Yay or Nay?

March 15, 2012 By Lena

Today, I just have one question for you: Pasta Sauce, from the original recipe of Great Grandma Bongiovi (whose genes would later spawn the sex god Jon Bon Jovi)…. YAY or NAY? Would you try this?

NOT SO HOT DEAL ALERT: Shipping to Canada: $41.00. (That is not a typo.)

The sauce retails for $8.00 per jar and must be purchased in 3-packs. For more information about the line, click here.

You know it’ll be there in a few months! And I think you’ve got the price point right, too :)

I think I’ll pass on this amazing deal! lol unless JBJ himself is delivering it to my door, than maybe it’s worth the $41

LOL yup! And even then, only if he delivers three bottles at a time :)

LOL thanks I’ll pass. Don’t like that they nail you to buy 3 from the start either.

Well that is a great point – what if you don’t like it? Or don’t want to drop $24 on pasta sauce right away?

I’d normally try anything with the BonJovi name on it but I think expensive pasta sauce is a bit of a stretch. Why don’t millionaires just share the recipe with us mortals?

LOL – that’s how they stay millionaires ;)

Oh Lord nay!!! Why do celebrities think they can sell anything and people will buy it? Think all the girls who had crushes on Jonny in the 80s and 90s would have grown up ad have brains by now!

I’m reserving comment until I can get my hands on a jar and taste it for myself…

YAY! But only if JBJ made it himself in my kitchen with nothing on but an apron.

    • Lena

      March 15, 2012 at 7:36 pm

OOOH! Now THAT I would pay $65 for.

No way would I spend $65/- on 3 jars of pasta sauce. Is “gold” one of the ingredients in it? Sounds crazy to me…….

I BOUGHT THE SAUCE ITS GREAT AND I DID NOT PAY THE PRICE YOU GUYS ARE SAYING,IT WAS MORE LIKE $40.00 AND 13 OF THAT WAS IN THE SHIPPING COST.
SO GET THE FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU MAKE JUDGEMENT.

Thank you for leaving a comment in shouty capitals.

But, if you read my post, you’ll see we’re referring to shipping charges to Canada.

It cost me something like 45 ……shipping charges are outrageous. The sauce is delicious…..far superior to typical jars of sauce. Loved the Garden flavor the best. I wish the stores would carry it. Sure could do without the high shipping rates.

$45…. ouch. But, I do really appreciate you stopping by with a testimonial – it’s good to hear that the sauce is definitely a quality product. Now if we could just nix those shipping charges…

I just checked out the website… right now they seem to have a special- 20% off. 20 it starts out at 27 for 3, added discount, took it down $5.40, typed in “facebook” as a coupon code, got another $2.70 off, added $9.28 for shipping to California, and the total including everything came out to $28.18usd. maybe an option would be to ship it to a friend in the US who will ship it to you?

    • Lena

      May 5, 2012 at 5:55 am

Thanks for the heads up on the sale, Regina! The thing is, if we send it to a friend, and then re-route it to Canada, we’d probably save a few dollars in the end, but the fact remains – WHY is this company charging $41 to ship to Canada? That is beyond ridiculous and kind of tacky.

Eh Who doesn’t love Jon Bon Jovi but really! I can’t believe he’d trade his name for some sauce and to then charge a bloody fortune for it. No thanks, I’ll stick to Prego
