Sephora by OPI Holiday Mini Blockbuster Set

December 11, 2011 By Lena

I did it! I found the PERFECT gift for every hard-to-shop-for gal on your holiday list.

(Totally awesomesauce, I promise.)

It’s the Sephora by OPI Holiday Mini Blockbuster Set!

Now tell me this: which girl is going to refuse a collection of the hottest, trendiest and most sought-after nail colours around? None that I know! Even if she’s not the type to paint her fingernails, every self-respecting woman needs colour on her toes, right? Right. This collection offers a wide spectrum of shades that are longwearing, chip-resistant and as always, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Toluene and Formaldehyde-free.

In other words: pure, unadulterated joy.

This season, my gorgeous friends at Sephora sent a bunch of holiday goodies my way, including the Sephora by OPI Holiday Mini Blockbuster Set. I must admit that I was completely smitten from the moment I looked at the box – not only is it a veritable cornucopia of colour, but it brings out the “collector” in every girl – we like to hoard pretty, shiny things. Seriously, we’ve been doing it since we were six years old. Except instead of stickers and rubber bracelets, it’s now jewelry, lipsticks and nail polish.

Keep in mind that the bottle are mini; they’ve got 3.75ml of liquid goodness versus the standard 15ml for Sephora by OPI. But I’m not complaining; when was the last time you finished an entire bottle of nail polish? I say sample size is the way to go when it comes to nail colour!

Of course, all the shades were ridiculously vibrant and rich. I’m mad crushing on How Cute is That? (opaque vintage pink coral), Already Famous (sheer pewter with medium champagne and silver glitter) and Sample Sale (opaque metallic classic red).

All shades are shown with two (2) coats plus clear topcoat.

The set retails for $62 CDN, which is a little bit more than I would spend on a casual acquaintance, but for the special gals in your life – splurge! Show ’em how much you love them… after all, it’s a $96 value, and will conceivably last them at least 3-4 seasons. Of course, this is also a spectacular treat for yourself… #justsayin

This Christmas, be a good friend: give the gift of colour. Click here to shop at Sephora.

So many pretty colors. I especially love the top row…I might have to check out a couple of the individual bottles at sephora…especially dear diary.

I found that the top row required two VERY thick coats, so be forewarned that the coverage is not as fluid as some of the other shades. Then again, that’s common for milky shades. But all the colours are AMAZING!

Oh Lena! Those are beautiful colours! I think this may have to be a special treat for myself. I’ve bought I Don’t Bite in the full size bottle and my roomie steals it every other week, lol!!!

Ha, now you can give her the mini and take back your full size! You’ll love it. Definitely endorse it as a treat for yourself.

I was eyeing this up recently at sephora, with the $15 (or $20) off $50 it’s a great deal and a nice present. I am debating on getting one of my cousin, I have enough nail polish.

Yes, I do believe you do have more than enough nail polish, ha! Didn’t even know about the coupon – there you go! Great price!

Ha ha ha, yup, Sephora can definitely be insane this time of year – especially on a weekend. I recommend shopping online! Shipping is reasonable and free on orders over $75… so in this case, the Mini Blockbuster Set plus something small for yourself!

This would be perfect for my sister. We both love OPI but have never tried OPI for Sephora. Where can I find the coupon Justine is talking about?

Love love love this! The mini size is perfect for someone like me who has only casual acquaintances with polish colors. What can I say I’m a Gemini and my moods change.

“casual acquaintances with polish colors” – love it! That describes me to a T!

It does! And it is! Can totally picture it on Angie. FYI: its the colour of blood in a vial around someone’s neck.
