…New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There’s nothin’ you can’t do!
Now you’re in New York;
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you!
Let’s hear it for New York, New York, New York…
Last week I had the awesome opportunity to attend a Tommee Tippee press event in New York City with other fabulous digital women. I can’t wait to tell you all about the incredible lineup of products; the science and ingenuity that go behind the brand – even about how my ovaries ached when confronted with baby monitors, sippy cups and breast pumps.
(To tell the truth; before the press trip, I knew very little about Tommee Tippee. And now I’m quite the #fangirl.)
My wrap up of the event – and all the juicy information about Tommee Tippee products – is certainly on its way. In the meantime, I’d love to share some phone pics that I randomly snapped throughout the day. Oh yes – did I mention we had over 6 hours to ourselves to pound the pavement? Let’s just say a crisp, fall afternoon in Manhattan is definitely my cup of tea.
Random pictures ahead… first, our view from the condo where the event was held, followed by street shots.
(Since someone will likely want to know, I have a Motorola XT860 4G. Yes, it takes ridiculously good photos.)
Above: Trying to get a shot of the sign that says “Fifth Avenue“, not Best Buy. Though I do wonder what it would be like to shop at a Best Buy on Fifth Avenue :)
A trip to the American Girl store *almost* makes me want a little girl. I say almost, because of course I zeroed in on this instructional video – which offers styling tips and tricks for your DOLL’s hair. I can honestly say that I’d rather push bulldozers with the boys than sit through a video like this.
Then we had to hit Saks, of course. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and of course that means dressing warm. Couldn’t resist the $595 fur hat… it’s a “maybe”.
Also had a Seinfeld-esque moment outside Botticelli. GAIL (to Elaine): Nice shoes! ELAINE: Oh. Thank you. GAIL: Where’d you get ’em? ELAINE (modest): They’re um, Botticelli’s. GAIL (impressed): Ooh, Botticelli’s! Look at you! I’m afraid to go in there. ELAINE: Really.
Above: Finished the day with two minutes of “Home Alone 2” at Rockafeller Center. Many thanks to Tommee Tippee for extending an invitation that was so much more than a press event. In a word, it was awesomesauce.
My dream is to go to NYC, I can’t imagine!!! Hope you had a wonderful time Lena – love your photos.
And, nice hat!!!
;)
Tammi
My Organized Chaos
Ha! Thanks. Think it’d look great on you too!
I’m with Tammi – NYC is an absolute dream of mine…one day! Looks like you had an amazing time!
Maybe we can go together? Girl’s trip!!!
I <3 NY!
I must say, I can't recall that episode of Seinfeld. I'm embarrassed to say I'm slipping! But maybe the Dingo ate your baybay!
Hmmm.. it was the episode where they had Russell (NBC exec) tricked into looking at Elaine’s boobs, because George copped a look at his daughter’s :)
I love NYC looks like you had a fun time!
I did!
The people are dressed to the nines at the fifth ave Best Buy…not! ;)
If I remember correctly there wasn’t anything special and I think the
stores here have better lightning and more organized.
Glad you had time to saunter about in NYC!
P.S.: Serenity now!!!
Serenity NOW! LOL love it. And thanks for letting me know all about Best Buy on 5th :)
Looks like such a fun trip – especially the American Girl store – my sis and I have planned to take our daughters there when they’re a little older to get their first AG dolls (but I will NOT be buying the video on how to style doll’s hair LOL !!!)
We lived in Manhattan for a year when the twins were a year old – and although I didn’t get out much – I miss it a lot – especially our Colombus Circle neighborhood – Having J crew and Sephora down the road was AMAZING!
I had no idea you lived in New York! That makes you even more interesting that you already are… I can’t stand it! :)
Wow! the pictures are amazing! – your Motorola XT860 4G has certainly done a fantastic job of the pictures.
I know! I’m in love with the fact that the phone takes such awesome pictures.
I’m so proud of you beautiful.
Muah.
This just makes me want to go to New York even more! Fingers crossed for me getting into a grad school there in the next two years or so :) In the meantime, I’ll just look at your pictures ;)
Oooh, good luck girl! That would be a dream!
