I Love it: Cougar Boots

October 24, 2011 By Lena

“You only get in life what you have the courage to ask for.”
– Oprah Winfrey

Sure. And a little good ol’ fashioned stalking never hurt anyone, either. I’m not too proud to admit that I put up a great big spotlight on myself when it came to working with Cougar.

Look at me! I’m LENA! Okay perhaps I should rewind.

Last year, Cougar Boots began popping up on some of my favourite lifestyle and fashion blogs. Tibets, Ravishings (?), Ringo Starrs and Regals – the bloggesses were prancing around, taking photos and showing off complete fashion ferocity. I was left an unsightly shade of green… called envy.

Waaa. Lena wants hot boots too!

So this year, I put one of my fave Word of Mouth’ers (Matchstick) on notice that I.wanted.in. And the funny thing? At first, I wasn’t viewed as a “natural fit.” Mommies aren’t stylish! They don’t care about being on trend! They can’t rock a pair of Cougar Boots!

Puh-lease.
Thankfully, it took very little arm bending (those who get it, get it – thanks Matchstick!) and I chose a sweet style for all my Winter ’12 adventures – the Mirage boot.

MIRAGE
Black
Montana Leather/Suede
Polar Plush Lining
Rated -10°C to -30°C
Womens Sizes 6-11
Approx. Retail: $250 CDN

LENA LOVES
Super Comfy

Warm and Toasty
On Trend Leather/Suede
Easy Side Zip

Now I wanted to show y’all that moms can party once a year like a rock star, so what better place to break in my new Cougar Boots than the CBC LIVE party at Blissdom Canada ’11! Here I am tearing up the red carpet…

True story: by the time these photos were taken, I had been wearing the boots for 12 hours. And quite honestly, it felt as though I was walking on a cloud. They are thatcomfortable. Now pay attention market research folks: TWENTY (20) bloggers asked me about my boots that night – either to compliment me on their visible hotness, ask where I got them, or inquire if they are as comfy as they appeared  Apparently, if you want to create buzz about your brand, put a hot mommy in even hotter boots and let the chips (sales?) fall where they may.

But to show y’all that the boots can go from fancy soirées to farm life, today I sported my fave style while hauling hay, riding tractors and traversing pumpkin patches at Springridge Farm in Milton, ON. Seriously, I wore Cougar Mirage Boots to a farm? Yup, like I said – they are that comfortable.

Not to be vain, but I did turn a few heads – females – as they sized up my bangin’ boots. Yeah, they’re ridiculously awesome. #justsayin’

(Only one gal had the courage to ask about my boots – when I told her they were cougar, she was pleasantly surprised. I know!)

So let’s all mass exodus to our nearest retailer and get in Cougar Boots this winter. They’re super toasty, funky, and obviously, if you’ve got a red carpet moment and hay ride in your calendar, they’re a no-brainer :)

The mirage was my second choice to review for Cougar Boots. I just thought the wedge may have been way too tall for winter. But I'm regretting my decision! I LOVE those on you!! They look amazing.

Love those boots! I had the chance to review 2 pairs of Cougar boots last year and I agree with you on their comfort and style. People stopped me all the time to ask me about them. That style goes really well from dressy to casual! Love them.My Regal rain boots were my go to boots for most of last winter. I expect the same will hold true this year!

I LOVE those boots!!! I'm sure you turned tons of heads at Springridge – I usually see mamas sporting rubber boots there. Love that you went so stylish, and yet again are proving that mamas can be stylish while running after kids all day! They're unfortunately way out of my price range, but maybe one day!

I love those boots, and they look hot on you mama! For the record I'd be checking you out too if you showed up at a farm near me. But you don't look like those crazy girls in high heels or anything, just really stylish and comfortable.

Your boots are so awesome, I just went to the website but it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to find them lol. I like that they look just as good on you as in the picture.

@spiffykerns – LOVE how we have the same taste! You totally rocked your boots too!
@Julia – lucky you!!! That is awesome, girl – definitely think I'm grabbing those Regal rain boots, they were at the top of my "must buy" list last year.
@Shauna – aw, thanks sugar plum. I didn't feel out of place at all, but they really did stand out! And I hear ya on the $$$, but, they are totally warm so I don't think I'll have to invest in another pair of winter boots this year!
@Jesse K – totally! They stood out in a GOOD way, LOL

Love LOVE those boots. Also love the awesome pics of you and your little guy at the farm. How'd they cleanup at the end of the day? Personally, I would have been a little bit terrified of wearing new $200+ dollar boots out to the farm and getting them covered in mud.

@Carlee – Ha ha, yes, Cougar is promoting the Pillow Boot now so their website has been taken over :)
@Erica Ehm – thank you! I'm all about high fashion on hay rides :)
@Lex – you would totally rock them!
    @Erica – awesome! Yep, totally versatile :)
