TUMZEE… It’s One of A Kind!

November 25, 2010 By Lena

Tummy Time. Two words which inspire either gleeful giggles or screams of protest from babies. Why is it that babies are never neutral on the subject? They seem to love it or hate it. Ryder was in the latter camp; putting him on his tummy to play was akin to beating him with a stale breadstick; he wanted nothing to do with it and stared at us with knowing accusation in his eyes. Quite simply, it was torture.

I wish I had come across this fabulous product back then –

“TUMZEE has been designed for babies, from birth to crawling age. The unique design enables babies to be propped up on their stomachs on an incline, which helps reduce the frustration babies incur during this learning experience. Once babies are able to roll over they do not spend any time on their tummies anymore and TUMZEE allows them to spend time on their stomach without rolling over or getting out of it. It also has a “T” support which will keep them from sliding down. Since they are propped up they are able to see the surrounding environment and play with toys developing neck and back muscles as well.”

Check out the features illustrated:

TUMZEE is made of 100% non-toxic EVA foam. It has the softness required for infants to be comfortable laying on it but the stiffness necessary to support their weight. I can’t get over how ingenious this product is! Imagine, keeping babies comfortable and secure as they enjoy time on their tummies. This item should be on EVERY baby registry list – new parents will thank you.

You can also use TUMZEE with all those fancy tummy time mats – just line it up on top of the play area, and let your child go nuts! A bonus; you won’t have to continually reposition your baby as he/she learns to roll and get out of tummy position. TUMZEE was proudly designed in Canada by parents who were equally frustrated by tummy time. To this, we say THANK YOU!!! It’s also PTPA Award Winning – parent evaluators fell in love with it’s ease of use and ability to keep babies on their tummies.

TUMZEEs are available in five (5) bright colours, and are available at select retailers across Canada. (Online shopping coming soon.)

Do you know if this product comes in bigger sizes? It would be GREAT for my class. I teach 8 students with CP and other physical disabilities and this would be great. At the moment I use a wedge mat but this product sound so much better!!! But my students are grade 1 to 8. I do have one student who is very tiny and could probably fit. I would LOVE to try it. Thanks!

I LOVE the idea of the Tumzee. I was lucky….my son LOVED tummy time. I do work with infants with special needs though, and would find this product to be very helpful professionally. I love how supportive the Tumzee is, and how it prevents the infant from sliding down. I also love that the Tumzee is a Canadian product.

I love that you can avoid the frustrations of a baby stuck on tummy who can't see anything- this is great! This didn't exist when I had my daugther, but I sure could have used it! Definately gonna find a way to get one before this baby comes in a month :)

I would love to have to have this for my 8 week old who hates tummy time. Actually, I think at this point he just wants to walk already but since that isn't possible I would love it if my little man would enjoy some time on his tummy. I like that he is supported worry free and by worry free I mean he isn't going to slide around or roll around and I don't have to worry about this being a toxic product. I also really like that it was developed by a Canadian company. I like knowing that I can support innovative Canadian companies with products I would enjoy.Rebecca

None of my kids have enjoyed tummy time… But, with this having them not be right on their face maybe they would enjoy it more!

    November 29, 2010 at 3:39 pm

My little one hated tummy time, she would roll over almost immediately. We bought another product that lifted her off the floor and was supposed to help with tummy time but I had to keep my hand on her back the whole time to prevent her from rolling off of it, plus her little legs were left dangling in the air. Needless to say it didn't get used more then a few times. I love the fact that the Tumzee supports baby's lower body and they are can't roll out or off of it. I would love to win one
